Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 02/23/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel, • Radius Rule: 50 miles, • Driver’s license required at submittal and will be used to verify distance outside the 50-mile radius, • Fingernail policy:, • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments, • Refusal to remove artificial nails will result in termination of contract, • RN Exam Requirement:, • Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation, • Open-book exam based on skills learned, • All necessary resources are provided, • Must score 90% or higher to pass or contract will be terminated, • Department: Med Surg ICU RN, • Number of Beds: 34, • BLS, • ACLS, • NIHSS, • ICU: 1:1–2, • PCU: 1:4–5, • Med Surg: 1:5–6, • Adults and pediatrics over 15 years old, • Neurosurgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program – experience not required), • Respiratory failure, • ARDS, • MODS, • Sepsis, • Stroke, • Cardiogenic shock (Impella, balloon pump – experience not required), • Renal failure (CRRT – experience not required), • General surgery, • Psych/overdose patients, • GI bleeds, • Cancer-specific surgeries including:, • Esophagectomy, • Internal chemotherapy administration, • CVPs, • A-lines, • Swans, • EV-1000, • ICP monitoring (training provided in real time), • Zoll Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, • Belmont rapid transfuser, • RNs are required to titrate drips, • Common drips include:, • Vasopressors, • Paralytics, • Narcotics, • Sedation, • Antiarrhythmics, • Charge nurse present on each shift, • Charge nurse does take an assignment, • Charge nurse attends RRTs and codes, • Nurse aides/patient care techs available, • Ratio: 1:18, • Equipment includes nasal cannula through ventilators, • RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, • No telemetry/monitor techs on unit, • Draeger heart monitoring system with centralized telemetry, • RNs must read and interpret their own strips, • Shifts:, • 0630–1830, • 1830–0630, • Scheduling is manager-driven based on unit needs, • Weekends: Every other, • Holidays:, • 2 out of 3 major holidays or, • Every other or, • As needed based on unit needs, • Float to all inpatient units, • Excludes Maternity and NICU, • Scrub color: Navy Blue, • 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation, • Fast-paced unit with fluctuating volume, • Primary tertiary hospital for the system, • Successful nurses demonstrate:, • Ability to ask questions, • Positive attitude, • Willingness to help others, • Strong critical thinking skills, • Personable nature, • Team-oriented environment, • Collaboration with attendings, fellows, and residents to deliver high-quality care, • Radius rule reiterated: 50 miles, • RTO must be submitted upfront, • Maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract, • Additional RTO will not be approved after submission With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
