Job DescriptionJob Overview of Parent Aide-Bilingual ANDRUS Parenting Service program is a bilingual (Spanish/English) home-visiting hybrid program. Our parenting program supports families to restore family functioning while encouraging positive parent-child interactions. We work with families who are identified by the Westchester County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services (CPS), Preventive Services (PS), or Foster Care (FC) units. Its primary goal is to strengthen families' parenting skills by helping them develop coping skills, problem-solving, discipline strategies, and practical communication skills. Overall, increasing parenting knowledge and self-sufficiency (empowerment). Schedule: Flexibility to work between 9am and 7pm and occasionally on Saturdays for 2 hours Essential Duties of Parent Aide-Bilingual • Provide parent education to each family in the participant’s home or at the Department of Social Services (DSS) office, or in the community for an “average” of three or six months., • Help families establish priorities, set goals, and provide evidence-based information/activities to strengthen the family unit., • Assess needs such as alcohol and drug abuse, parenting skills, or health concerns., • Offer family support and referral/linkages to community, social, and other support services as needed., • Conduct home or DSS visits once a week., • Write Progress notes & case notes., • Write monthly summaries., • Travel as required to community-based meetings, collateral meetings, and meetings with participants as required by the program., • Support the overall strategic plan of the organization., • Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments. Essential Qualifications of Parent Aide-Bilingual Bachelor’s Degree Preferred • Experience working with children and families in a home/community setting.
