Must have Customs Brokerage Entry Writing experience. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team. This role combines responsibilities for Customs brokerage and drawback entry processing, with a strong emphasis on providing and maintaining effective customer service, resolving shipment-related issues, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and participating Government Agencies (PGAs). Responsibilities • Process Customs brokerage for air and ocean shipments, including data entry and preparation of import-related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and PGAs., • Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) across a broad range of commodities., • Follow up on Customs matters, resolve issues, and maintain accurate documentation and records in systems like Cargowise., • Assemble and file drawback entries with U.S. Customs, ensuring accuracy and compliance., • Prepare and manage billing packages for customers., • Maintain and update shared Excel and Google spreadsheets to track key data for the Customs teams., • Provide timely responses to customer and inter-company inquiries, resolving problems efficiently., • Save and organize electronic records of all documentation in systems such as Cargowise., • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher is preferred., • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Customs brokerage for air and ocean shipments., • Minimum of 2 year of data entry experience in a professional office environment., • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise is essential)., • Experience with Customs Brokerage software; experience working with Cargowise is a plus., • Familiarity with Google Docs is a plus., • Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail., • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)., • Must be a team player who can also work independently., • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment., • Knowledge of the import business, Customs brokerage, and drawback processing is a plus. In addition, the Data and Reporting Specialist must verify and edit data as needed as part of regular maintenance and follow up with staff regarding any irregularities or missing information. Responsibilities include • Data entry into specified data systems for reporting requirements, • Routinely complete monthly reports, maintaining organization and documentation practices, • Assist Interim Database Administrator with quarterly, bi-annual and annual reporting requirements including narrative writing, data entry, and communication with staff, • Assist staff with data system accounts and facilitate trainings on data system processes, • Verify and edit data across multiple systems as needed, • Log incomplete or missing items for correction by staff as needed, • Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures, • Adhere to agency technology guidelines as well as legal and regulatory standards., • Actively participate in meetings with supervisor. Attend all mandatory meetings including all staff meetings, team meetings and others as requested by the supervisor., • Complete functional timesheets by assigned due dates in compliance with time allocations., • Actively participate in reflective supervision sessions. This position is eligible for hybrid in person & remote work. Time spent on-site versus remote working will be discussed and agreed upon with your supervisor. You are expected to be availableon-site as necessary given business needs. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
