Job DescriptionSalary: $75,000-$85,000 yearly ($36.06-$40.87 hourly) Position: Staff Interpreter Supervisor: Director of LIFESIGNS Location: LIFESIGNS Classification: Non-exempt, 100% FTE Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of LIFESIGNS, the Staff Interpreter will: • Interpret assignments as delegated by the Interpreter Schedulers and/or for assignments may include, but are not limited to:, • Routine medical appointments,, • Corporate staff meetings, • Formal speeches and platform interpreting, • Press conferences and public events. Educational Settings, art performances, and other community-based assignments, • Perform assignments based on skill level and demonstrated competencies., • Work primarily in the field or virtually with location determined by assignment needs. If the staff Interpreter resides near the TCGLAD office, that location may serve as their home base., • Maintain accurate monthly service statistics and submit reports as required. Qualifications: • Certification Requirements, • Bachelor's degree, • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification, • BEI Certification Advanced or Master level required, • Previously recognized certifications (e.g., NAD, ACCI, NIC), • EIPA 4+ with continuing training CEU credits, • Knowledge and Skills, • Strong understanding of laws, programs, and rights protecting Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics., • Punctuality and reliability are essential., • Additional Requirements, • Ability to travel throughout the service area., • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to RID Code of Professional Conduct. About GLAD: The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 1969 and now has 13 locations serving 10 counties in Southern California.
