Job DescriptionJob Title: Forklift Operator Job Description The Forklift Operator supports the inventory department by handling basic materials-related functions, including receiving, stocking, issuing, packing, and shipping materials. This role operates forklifts and other warehouse equipment, performs inventory transactions and cycle counts, and ensures that products are properly protected, accurately documented, and shipped on time to meet customer expectations and production requirements. Responsibilities • Receive incoming materials from both external and internal suppliers in accordance with established procedures., • Identify and stock materials using the correct part numbers and follow defined inventory and warehouse processes., • Issue materials to production work centers and accurately complete all required paperwork., • Process basic inventory transactions in the computer system and maintain accurate inventory records., • Perform cycle counts within the assigned area of responsibility to support inventory accuracy., • Expedite parts and materials as needed to ensure production does not stop., • Perform routine forklift maintenance and upkeep to keep equipment in safe working condition., • Maintain clean, organized aisles and good housekeeping standards within the warehouse and production lines., • Properly identify all products assigned for packing, including specialized product lines., • Perform all packing procedures with a strong focus on part protection and meeting or exceeding customer expectations, including barrier bagging parts when required., • Ensure parts arrive at customers undamaged by understanding product characteristics, shipment methods, and shipping routes., • Manage paperwork associated with assigned tasks, including verifying part orders against pick tickets and confirming shipments within the ERP system., • Work under specific deadlines for overnight and time-sensitive shipments., • Use freight company computer systems to process orders and print manifest reports., • Complete carrier bills of lading (BOL) and all other required shipping documents accurately.Essential Skills, • Previous forklift operating experience with the ability to pass a formal forklift certification test., • Basic knowledge of inventory control methods, including cycle counting, FIFO (First In, First Out), and location audits., • Two (2) to three (3) years of inventory control experience., • Prior experience in shipping or packing environments., • Ability to process inventory transactions using a computer system and ERP software., • Experience working with bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing a high level of service to internal and external customers., • Self-motivated approach with a focus on doing the best work each day., • Ability to prioritize assignments throughout the day and manage several tasks or issues simultaneously.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with warehouse operations, material handling, and cycle counting., • Comfort working with freight company computer systems and generating manifest reports., • Ability to accurately identify, label, and pack a variety of parts and products, including using barrier bags when required., • Strong organizational skills to maintain clean aisles, safe work areas, and orderly inventory locations., • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines for overnight and expedited shipments., • General understanding of shipping methods and carrier requirements.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a busy warehouse and production setting with heavy pedestrian and industrial vehicle traffic. The work environment can include occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. Noise levels are typically loud, and safety awareness is essential. The position involves regular operation of forklifts and material handling equipment, working with computers, ERP systems, and freight company software to manage inventory and shipping tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oxnard, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
