Job Description Job Title: Housekeeper Department: Maintenance/Housekeeping FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Maintenance Director JOB SUMMARY: Maintaining overall cleanliness, tidiness, appearance of Community including common areas and resident apartments per service plan agreements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Vacuum apartments, common areas, and offices., • Dust apartments, common areas, and offices., • Empty trash from apartments, common areas, bathrooms, and office areas., • Clean carpets in apartments, common areas, and offices., • Clean bathrooms in apartments, common areas, and offices., • Clean entryway, patios, courtyards, and ashtrays., • Clean sidewalk areas near entryways and courtyards., • Clean courtyard furnishings., • Clean debris from perimeter of building., • Mop and sanitize all hard surface flooring in apartments and common areas., • Clean and sanitize all areas in an efficient and effective timeline., • Treat residents, families and visitors of the Community with dignity and respect., • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be met., • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, co-workers and others., • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the Community., • Must be able to push, pull and move supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50 pounds)., • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of the residents, if necessary., • Must be able to effectively communicate any issues seen or found with the Maintenance Director, Executive Director or other managers., • Must be able to spend long periods of time on feet., • Must be able to walk quickly and throughout the community., • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day while sitting, standing, bending and lifting., • Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner., • Must be familiar with cleaning supplies and/or chemicals and their uses., • Must be able to read and understand SDS documents., • Must possess excellent organizational skills (as he/she is required to complete many duties within an allotted period of time). ANY CERTIFICATION PER STATE REQUIREMENT: • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the State., • First Aid and CPR Certifications as required by the State., • Criminal Background check cleared., • Certification and/or License as required by the State., • Fingerprint clearance as required by the State., • Must be at least 18 years of age as outlined in state regulations. Physical Demands: • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods., • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of regular duties., • Ability to talk and hear to communicate effectively with residents and staff., • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently., • Sitting, • Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, • Reaching with hands and arms, • Regular interaction with co-workers, residents, and vendors., • Occasional evening, weekend, or night shifts may be required to ensure proper shift coverage., • Subject to potential exposure to:, • Communicable diseases and infections, • Exposure to latex., • Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens., • Various drugs, chemicals, infectious, or biological hazards, • Environmental hazards such as falls, burns, odors, or equipment-related injuries, • On-call work may be required on an as-needed basis., • Occasional travel may be necessary.
