Job Description Clear Group is a vertically integrated design-build organization encompassing construction, millwork, specialty trades, architecture, development, and shared administrative services. Our long-term goal is to become a fully integrated firm capable of designing and building any structure entirely in house. Role Summary The Vice President of Sales and Marketing is accountable for revenue growth, brand positioning, and demand generation across all Clear Group entities. This role owns the full go-to-market engine from pipeline strategy and client acquisition to brand narrative, estimating alignment, and long-term market positioning. This is a strategic leadership role, not a quota-only sales position. The VP of Sales and Marketing builds systems, teams, and repeatable processes that scale Clear Group toward its long-term vision of becoming a fully integrated, in-house design-build firm capable of executing projects of any size or complexity. The Vice President of Sales and Marketing reports directly to the President and works laterally with leadership across Construction, Architecture, Millwork, Tradework, Development, and Administration. This role is based on-site in our Santa Barbara, CA office, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement for the right candidate. Core Responsibilities • Revenue and Growth Strategy, • Own Clear Group’s overall revenue strategy across all operating entities, • Define target markets, ideal client profiles, and project types by division, • Establish annual and multi-year revenue plans tied to capacity, margin, and strategic goals, • Balance short-term sales execution with long-term brand and market positioning, • Sales Leadership and Pipeline Management, • Build and lead the sales organization (business development, sales, client relations), • Define and enforce a disciplined sales process from lead to close to handoff, • Own pipeline forecasting, probability weighting, and revenue predictability, • Ensure CRM (Salesforce) is correctly architected, adopted, and trusted, • Coach sales leaders and individual contributors toward high-performance execution, • Marketing and Brand Leadership, • Own Clear Group’s brand strategy across all channels and entities, • Oversee marketing strategy including digital, content, PR, partnerships, and events, • Ensure marketing efforts directly support pipeline creation and sales enablement, • Maintain brand consistency, quality, and clarity across all public-facing materials, • Position Clear Group as a thought leader in integrated design-build and development, • Preconstruction, Estimating and Sales Alignment, • Partner closely with Preconstruction and Estimating to ensure:, • Accurate early-stage scoping, • Clear value engineering strategies, • Honest expectation-setting with clients, • Eliminate friction between selling the work and building the work, • Ensure proposals, pricing strategies, and narratives reflect Clear Group’s value, not just cost, • Cross-Entity Coordination, • Coordinate sales strategy across:, • Clear Construction, • Clear Architecture, • Clear Millwork, • Clear Tradework, • Clear Development, • Identify and execute cross-selling and vertical integration opportunities, • Ensure the client experience feels unified, not siloed by entity, • Systems, Data and Process Ownership, • Own the sales and marketing tech stack and its adoption, • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that leadership actually uses, • Continuously improve sales velocity, close rates, and deal quality, • Build scalable systems that reduce founder involvement over time, • Leadership and Culture, • Hire, develop, and retain top-tier sales and marketing talent, • Set a high bar for professionalism, accountability, and follow-through, • Model Clear Group’s core values: Brilliance, Passion, Persistence, Precision, • Predictable, high-quality pipeline aligned with Clear Group’s capacity and profitability targets, • Clear Group recognized as a premium, design-forward, execution-excellent firm in its markets, • Sales, estimating, and preconstruction operating as a single, coordinated system, • Marketing that drives real opportunities, not vanity metrics, • Required, • 10+ years in senior sales and/or marketing leadership roles, • Proven experience scaling a professional services, construction, architecture, or real-estate-adjacent business, • Deep understanding of long-cycle, high-trust sales (not transactional sales), • Strong command of CRM systems, pipeline analytics, and forecasting, • Experience aligning sales with delivery teams in complex organizations, • Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels, • Preferred, • Experience in design-build, construction, development, or architecture, • Experience selling premium or high-end services/products, • Background working with founder-led or growth-stage companies, • Systems-oriented thinker who hates chaos and ambiguity, • Direct, honest, and decisive communicator, • High accountability and doesn’t outsource blame, • Strategic, but grounded in execution Clear Group is building a fully integrated design-build ecosystem with real depth, not just branding.
