Job Description Job Title: Wellness Nurse Department: Clinical FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Executive Director Location: Regency Palms Oxnard DBA Global Regency Oxnard Senior Care Services, LLC JOB SUMMARY: The Wellness Nurse is responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of resident care within the assisted living community. This role ensures compliance with state regulations, monitors residents’ health status, and provides direct nursing care as needed. The Wellness Nurse oversees care delivery on assigned floors, supervises Caregivers and Medication Technicians, and ensures that individualized service plans are carried out safely and effectively. In collaboration with the Wellness Director, the Wellness Nurse supports staff training, quality assurance, and best practices in resident care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that promotes residents’ dignity, independence, and well-being. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure residents receive safe, effective, and compassionate care in accordance with state regulations and community policies., • Assist the Wellness Director in supervising and guiding Caregivers and Medication Technicians in the delivery of care, ensuring proper training, competency, and adherence to established standards., • Conduct initial and ongoing resident assessments, document changes in condition, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized service plans., • Monitor medication management practices, including administration, documentation, and storage, to ensure compliance with state regulations and physician orders., • Ensure full compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, maintaining accurate clinical records and performing regular quality assurance audits., • Implement and monitor safety and risk management protocols, including infection control, fall prevention, and emergency response. Investigate incidents and support corrective actions., • Serve as a primary clinical resource and liaison for residents, families, and physicians, maintaining professional, timely, and transparent communication., • Coordinate care with external healthcare providers such as physicians, home health, therapy, and hospice to support continuity of care and resident well-being., • Support and mentor care staff in clinical best practices, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement., • Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the floor to oversee care delivery and promptly address resident concerns., • Minimum 2 years of experience in senior living or long-term care., • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred., • Strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and ability to communicate effectively with residents and families., • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Work systems., • Experience with Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records systems, • State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement., • LIC 503 Health Screening Report. ANY CERTIFICATION PER STATE REQUIREMENT: • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the state., • First Aid and CPR Certifications as required by the state., • Criminal Background check cleared., • Unencumbered nursing license (Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse) in the state of employment., • Fingerprint clearance as required by the state.., • Must be at least 18 years of age as outlined in state regulations., • Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
