CFR is committed to providing robust supervision to program staff, and we have a need for a Litigation Supervisor in the Bronx. Under the supervision of the YDP Director and Deputy Director, the Litigation Supervisor’s primary responsibility will be to supervise up to four or five staff attorneys of varying degrees of experience who work in interdisciplinary teams with social work, youth advocate, peer advocate, client coordinator and paralegal staff to represent children in Article 3 Juvenile Delinquency proceedings, Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS), occasional Youth Part cases and other related family court proceedings. Litigation Supervisors are responsible for helping attorneys develop mastery in all aspects of litigation as well as in reinforcing and building upon skills and values introduced in initial and ongoing trainings, and provide regular, robust supervision. Litigation Supervisors write professional development reviews, periodically coordinate case practice and attorney workgroup meetings, and from time to time, develop practice materials useful for staff at CFR. Litigation Supervisors also work with family court staff and staff from other agencies, including Corporation Counsel or the Dept. of Probation, to address substantive and operational issues that affect a large court-based practice. Job Description Summary: Streetwork Project is the oldest street outreach program for homeless and street-involved youth in New York City. The program has grown from its beginnings in 1984 as a storefront project to encompass both outreach and comprehensive harm reduction services. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. The Public Benefits Coordinator will work with clients on accessing emergency and long-term benefits. The core of the benefit assistance will include advocacy for acquiring and navigating cash assistance, food stamp (SNAP), Medicaid and disability-income programs (SSI and WeCARE). Job Description POSITION SUMMARY CPF is seeking to hire experienced players, coaches or teachers to teach free beginner tennis lessons to children and seniors in NYC parks. Lessons for seniors are typically held in the Spring and Fall on weekday mornings. The FFT Therapist will report to the Justice Center’s FFT Supervisor. This program is part of the Atlas initiative and uses the evidence-based Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model to engage young people and their families in holistic anti-violence services. Atlas works to prevent violence by meeting people during a crisis, like a recent arrest or open court case and connecting them to a change process that nurtures hope and strengthens relationships. The team will support program participants in the community through the application of the highly acclaimed, Critical Time Intervention, evidence-based, model of care. The Mental Health Clinician’s role will involve community outreach on the streets and subways, coordinating participants needs before and after their move from street to home, enhancing their daily living skills, providing supportive counselling, and advocating on their behalf when faced with discrimination or healthcare inequities. Member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, flexibility and person-centered core elements are essential to this team. The SOS teams will continue to follow participants for several months after housing placement to ensure their stability, independence and wellbeing in their new community. The role will require field-based work, periodic on call coverage, and a willingness to work flexible hours.
