At ING we are looking for Associate of Portfolio Management We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to join our Lending Team of Wholesale Banking as Associate of Portfolio Management . This is a lending professional role within the front office. As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, your responsibility is to actively manage the lending portfolio of Spain & Portugal and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. You will join a multi-sector and multi-product team (Real Estate Finance, Energy, Infra, Telecommunications, Acquisition Finance), although your role will be mainly focused on project finance transactions in the Energy & Infrastructure sectors . You will collaborate with a wide range of teams -Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory, Risk, Global Credit Restructuring, Legal and more- whilst aligning with back office / support teams. At the same time, the Portfolio Management team plays a key role in further optimizing our processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization. The Portfolio Management team will be the ‘center of excellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s WB lending exposure. As a front office department, it will closely collaborate with Origination & Structuring colleagues and product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience. The Portfolio Management function will be organised along product and sector considerations. Each portfolio manager will cover a set of portfolio clients and act as the first point of contact for the ongoing credit monitoring, analytics, internal risk and other reporting. Portfolio Management supports the identification of cross-buy opportunities and is also closely involved in the delivery of ING’s capital velocity targets. The team will be supported by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines. The specific responsibilities of an Associate include actively managing together with the Portfolio Managers all facets of the individual files booked in your dedicated portfolio, including but not limited to: Process amendment and waiver requests, credit review process (write or review credit modifications, perform financial analysis, cash flow- based modelling and sensitivity analysis, perform sustainable transaction assessment, submit to risk and address Q&A), follow-up on the required legal amendments to the documentation until execution; Diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of all financial covenants and operating performance (e.g. financial models, proforma adjustments, key drivers, etc.) Identification and resolution of Early Warning Signals, Unlikely to Pay assessment, Forbearance assessment, Default for a deterioration in credit quality. In addition, an Associate will monitor and identify together with the Portfolio Managers market developments and proactively manage their potential impact on your portfolio by Preparing quarterly Credit Risk Management (“CRM”) portfolio reviews; Maintaining various department and industry databases/ trackers; Coordinating and working with offshore portfolio support teams; An Associate will take active part in the various Virtual Client Teams by An Associate is expected to build a culture of operational excellence by Risk, Legal, etc.) Contributing to the implementation of strategic initiatives, including enhancements to the credit monitoring process to improve business efficiency; Supporting the implementation of transformation projects; Coaching more junior colleagues (Analysts, trainees and interns) by supporting them in their personal and professional development; Contributing to improve data quality monitoring and reporting. CFA and/ or MBA are a plus. 2-5 years of relevant experience in structuring Project Finance deals preferably in the Energy sector in an international environment. embracing diversity and cross-cultural awareness and able to work effectively across functions; Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities; Knowledge of Legal Documentation; Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
