Job Title: Audit Manager Location: Wolverhampton (Hybrid options available) Salary: £62,000-£70,000 per annum Reports to: Audit Partner / Director About the Role We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our expanding professional services team based in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of audit clients, lead engagements from planning to completion, and oversee the work of audit seniors and trainees. This position offers a highly competitive salary in the range of £62,000-£70,000, reflecting the seniority and responsibility of the role. Role Overview As an Audit Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of audit and assurance assignments across multiple sectors, providing high-quality service and technical excellence. Based in Wolverhampton, you will play a key role in shaping the firm's audit approach, supporting junior staff, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Key Responsibilities • Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries., • Plan, lead, and complete statutory audits in accordance with UK auditing standards (ISA(UK)s)., • Review audit files prepared by team members, ensuring compliance with professional standards., • Liaise with client management and directors to communicate findings and recommendations., • Manage budgets, monitor progress, and ensure delivery within timescales., • Mentor and develop junior team members through on-the-job training and performance feedback., • Keep up to date with FRS 102, auditing developments, and Companies Act compliance requirements., • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with relevant post-qualification experience., • Minimum 4-5 years in a UK accountancy practice, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial audit role., • Excellent technical understanding of UK GAAP and ISA(UK)s., • Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing directly with clients., • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines effectively., • Experience with SMEs, charities, or owner-managed businesses., • Familiarity with audit software such as CaseWare, CCH, or IRIS., • Salary range: £62,000-£70,000, depending on experience., • Flexible working options and hybrid arrangements in Wolverhampton., • Ongoing professional development and CPD support., • Clear career progression within a respected regional practice., • Supportive, people-focused culture with strong client relationships.
