In this role, youll manage the full software lifecycle, support IT projects, and work closely with stakeholders to optimise our software portfolio. From onboarding new tools and handling renewals, to maintaining governance and supporting audits youll be central to how we manage and improve our software estate. Where you fit in: As our Software Asset Management Specialist, you will: Play an active role in IT software projects, collaborating with ITAM Analysts to ensure effective software asset management throughout. Manage the full lifecycle of software assets from acquisition to retirement ensuring compliance, efficiency, and value for money. Continuously optimise the software portfolio by identifying opportunities to harvest unused licences, and apply cost-effective licensing models. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all software agreements and ensure the Software Catalogue reflects current usage and availability. Identify and resolve instances of Shadow IT (unauthorised software usage) to maintain compliance and reduce risk. Lead or support the onboarding of new software outside of formal project structures. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including Service Owners, Application Support, Technical Support, and Service Managers. Respond to software-related service requests and support application incidents, problems, and changes where relevant. Manage software licence and support renewals in collaboration with the SRM and Procurement teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes. Ensure the Software Asset Management Database (AMDB) is accurate and well-maintained. Support software procurement activities, including identifying compliance gaps and opportunities for cost savings. Develop and maintain governance documentation including policies, processes, and procedures related to software asset management. Conduct internal audits and Effective Licence Position assessments and assist with external audits as required. Provide regular and ad hoc reporting and insights to support decision making and continuous improvement. What skills & qualifications you will need: Proven experience (5+ years) in Software Asset Management within a complex IT environment Hands-on knowledge of enterprise SAM tools such as Snow Software, Flexera, and ServiceNow Strong background in managing SaaS applications and licensing Experience with Bring Your Own Licence (BYOL) models in cloud platforms like Azure Skilled in working with Tier 1 software vendors and navigating complex licensing agreements Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, its important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life.
