About the Role: This role is pivotal to the success of the execution of our clients’ business model, overseeing the detailed operation of the Recs and Banking & Corporate Action teams. Ensuring they are focused on maximising the working relationship between the business and our clients/third parties. The role holder must be able to assimilate the complexity of the business proposition and have a sound understanding of the regulatory framework required to run the teams. The role holder will be responsible for the management of the teams and, as a role model, demonstrate behaviours aligned to the company core values, in order to maximise team performance and deliver outstanding service in line with agreed key performance indicators. Responsibilities: • Responsibility for the Recs & Banking and Corporate Action teams, • Team responsibilities include:, • Daily internal and external client money reconciliations & investigation, • Internal and external custody reconciliation & investigation, • Regulatory returns & claims, • Nominee and Investment Manager payment processing, • Cheque processing and banking, • Corporate Action processing, • Distribution processing, • Cash interest processing, • Manage the teams to achieve effective workflows, contributing towards an efficient execution of responsibilities, • Work with the departmental management teams to maintain a collaborative approach in achieving the departmental service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), • Responsible for Team Leader development through structured one-to-one sessions, appraisals and individual training and development plans, • Remain up to date on all relevant external regulatory requirements and internal processes to ensure that all team procedures remain accurate and approved, • Handle any escalated enquiries and complaints, liaising with the appropriate colleagues to achieve resolution, • Encourage and value ideas and initiatives, • Demonstrate flexibility during periods of high workloads and aid other services when required, • Support the business with user acceptance testing and disaster recovery cycles, as directed, • Achieve and actively maintain own skills and knowledge to adhere to the Training and Competency framework, • Ensure that the risk management process is promoted, supported, managed, and implemented effectively within the team. The team undertake daily reconciliations of client money accounts, oversee funding from the Corporate accounts for shortfalls, and process payments off the platform. Also includes completing checks on bank accounts and uploading payment files.
