This is a new children’s home in Plymouth, so your initial focus will be on completing the registration requirements for our Ofsted Application. We offer the opportunity to contribute dynamism and creativity to delivering the home’s ethos and practice. You should have recent experience managing Ofsted homes or other social care services within a residential environment. Ideally you would have previously been registered with Ofsted. However, a strong CV from a deputy-type role will be considered for applicants looking for their first registered managerial role. We seek experience supporting children/young people with mental disabilities within a residential environment. Ideally, you will have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, or a Level 3, but you are working or willing to work towards Level 5. Non-exhaustive general duties would include: · Overall responsibility for the general management of the home and all staff, delegating effectively and appropriately to deliver policies, processes, and good practices. · Ensuring the Home complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, and the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF). · Supporting the Responsible Individual in management and monitoring of expenditures to remain within budgets · Ensuring the service Workforce Development Plan is dynamic. Overseeing that up-to-date risk assessments are in place to protect children and staff under organizational policies. The personal characteristics we are looking for include the following: · A positive approach to problem solving · Being reflective and analytical in making recommendations for improvements · Accountability · Personal resilience · Clean DBS records Role • Demonstrate passion and commitment to excellent care and quality, both in terms of service delivery and in terms of outcomes for young people., • To successfully register with Ofsted., • As the registered manager, ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and all regulations and standards at all time, • Comply with Safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times and promote an honest and open culture, • Develop the staff team’s knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices and processes, • Demonstrate strong and effective leadership and people management at all times, • Inspire, motivate and build a highly skilled and engaged workforce with a strong commitment to nurturing staff potential and developing skills, • Ensure that resources, including staff, are effectively deployed to optimise service delivery, • Demonstrate excellent communication with all internal and external stakeholders, • Be accountable for effectively managing financial performance and for meeting and, where possible, exceeding agreed targets, • Lead a culture of continuous improvement and development with a strong focus on best practice, • Proactively seek opportunities for innovation in order to maintain sustainable and resilient business, • Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and Ofsted regulation, • Have experience in working within Children's Homes for at-least 2 years in the last 5 years and 1 year of supervisory experience., • Currently or previously hold or have held a registration with Ofsted as a Registered Manager(Preferred), • Have exceptional leadership and management skills., • We're rewarding New Starters with a Welcome Bonus, • Bonus for keeping Outstanding rating from Ofsted., • Relocation package
