The Quantity Surveyor will support the Commercial Manager as part of an integrated project team, contributing to the delivery of strong commercial outcomes for the Slough project. The role involves a blend of independent and collaborative tasks, completed to regular deadlines across the full commercial cycle. Cost & Financial Management • Contribute to Cost/Value Reconciliations and End-of-Life Cost Reporting., • Prepare, submit, and agree interim valuations, final valuations, final accounts, and subcontractor final accounts., • Oversee subcontractor payments, certification, and financial administration., • Lead cost monitoring and reporting activities. Contract & Commercial Administration • Manage NEC contract administration including early warnings, compensation events, and commercial records., • Support dispute resolution and advise on contractual redress., • Prepare subcontract scopes, packages, and tender documentation. Stakeholder Engagement • Maintain effective commercial relationships with subcontractors to optimise value and service quality., • Submit Applications for Payment to the Client and engage regularly with the Client team., • Collaborate closely with project management teams to ensure alignment and integration of commercial processes. Site & Project Insight • Conduct routine site visits to verify records, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed decision‑making. Technical Competencies • NEC contract knowledge and application., • Contract law, tort, statutory obligations, and relevant legislation., • Pre‑contract controls, scope evaluation, and procurement methodology., • Data reporting, record‑keeping, and project controls including cost capture, forecasting, and measurement., • Insurance, bonds, warranties, and commercial risk management., • Planning and programming techniques, industry technologies, SHE standards, and quality systems., • Ability to contribute to senior‑level discussions on strategy and issue resolution. Qualifications & Personal Attributes • Degree in Quantity Surveying (desirable)., • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Methodical, organised, and thorough in approach., • Experience in public health, sanitation, or wastewater civil engineering projects (desirable).
