With a commitment to collaboration, transparency, and performance excellence, we support some of the world’s most respected clients across a diverse range of sectors. \n \n The Role \n At Cumming Group, you will work on some exciting construction projects across a variety of real estate sectors, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your success is measured by the impact you make. \n \n As an Associate Director, you will provide expert-level cost and project management consultancy and project support for projects across various stages, from concept design to construction completion. You will partner with a diverse set of clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional value, acting as a trusted advisor and helping to ensure successful project outcomes. \n \n Experience of business development, work winning, client retention, and having in-depth pre-existing strong client relationships is essential for the role. You will be required to support a Senior Director in both delivering, securing and owning new clients and commissions. A demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining business growth is key. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Business development, business planning and work winning.\n, • Preparing and leading on bids, presentations and interviews.\n, • Financial planning and forecasting of fees and monitoring/measuring forecast versus actual turnover.\n, • Prepare budget estimates, cost plans and client reports.\n, • Provide risk and value management, including facilitation of workshops and project risk registers.\n, • Contract administration including preparation of valuations, forecasts, cost reports and attendance at project meetings.\n, • Deliver all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner to a high standard of quality.\n, • Manage the delivery of work through proactive involvement where appropriate and through performance management of personnel to ensure work is completed in a timely manner to a high-quality standard.\n, • Use of the full range of Project Management processes.\n, • Experience of drafting and maintaining programmes using Microsoft Project/P6 and undertaking review analysis of programme activities. (NEC programme experience is beneficial).\n, • Proactive day to day responsibility for various sized projects and demonstrate the ability to take on tasks with minimal supervision and supporting larger projects and programmes of work.\n, • Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor/consultant selection and contract documentation.\n, • Contract administration for relevant contract provisions, monthly reporting and chairing project meetings.\n, • Ensure service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice, particularly Health and Safety and Quality Assurance.\n, • Ensure compliance with the client’s corporate governance procedures where applicable.\n, • Work to deadlines set by the Senior Director.\n, • Ensure filing of project correspondence in accordance with requirements.\n, • Develop our business; networking and developing client relationships.\n, • Ensure that change control processes for the services we provide are effectively managed.\n, • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives at service and sector level.\n, • Provide leadership to the staff, where required. Resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities relating to work with the appropriate Director or Associate Director.\n, • Mentor and coach team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed to support the successful growth of the Practice and development of their career.\n, • Monitor project fees and ensure resource and time inputs are in line with approved budgets.\n, • Provide overall leadership to the Project Management team including project and service delivery, processes, development etc.\n, • Strengthen our service delivery capability and promote knowledge capture, sharing and innovation.\n, • Support risk and value management, including facilitation of workshops and project risk registers.\n, • Undertake service delivery in accordance with the policies and procedures of the business, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance.\n, • Undertake service in compliance with client’s corporate governance procedures where applicable.\n, • Achieve all objectives as required by the annual performance review process.\n, • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and continuous improvement.\n, • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects.\n, • Provide advice on procurement and contracts.\n, • Responsibility for, and must be committed to promoting, protecting, developing and enabling the business and your colleagues, within the parameter of your job role.\n, • Contribute towards bid and tender preparation and business development.\n, • Develop and manage Project Programmes and obtain the buy-in of all stakeholders.\n, • Drive project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring client delivery is above expectation.\n\n \n Qualifications \n\n • Preferably degree qualified: construction, cost or project management, engineering, quantity surveying or other RICS accredited degree.\n, • MRICS / other equivalent qualification or experience.\n, • 8–10+ years’ experience.\n, • Experience acting as an Associate Director preferred.\n, • Proven experience in the Real Estate sector.\n, • Extensive knowledge of construction industry technical matters.\n, • Extensive experience of industry standard forms of contract, typically JCT and NEC.\n, • Excellent pre and post contract technical cost and project management skills.\n, • Strong interpersonal skills with both client and staff.\n, • Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and an aptitude for forward planning.\n, • Energetic and motivated with natural drive and an innovative flair, resourcefulness and ability to adapt to change.\n, • An ability to think clearly and make reasoned decisions, explaining the logic employed.\n, • Good experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects.\n\n \n Benefits \n\n • Competitive Salary\n, • Incentivised Bonus Scheme\n, • Pension Scheme\n, • Wellbeing discounts\n, • Cycle to work\n, • Holiday purchasing\n, • Private healthcare\n, • Eye tests\n, • Life Assurance\n, • EAP (Employee Assistance Programme)\n\n \n Cumming Group is committed to creating a diverse workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
