Transport Supervisor Temp to Permanent I Nantgarw £31,376 P/A Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a major national logistics provider who are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to support the smooth and efficient running of a busy 24/7 operation based in Nantgarw. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious transport professional to take ownership of day‑to‑day operational performance and people leadership within a fast‑paced, multi‑customer environment As Transport Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Transport Manager to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently and to agreed service standards. You’ll lead and support a team of office colleagues, warehouse staff and a driving workforce of 20+ drivers Key Responsibilities • Act as first-line operational lead for the site, supporting 10+ office/warehouse staff and 20+ drivers, • Ensure strict compliance with safe systems of work, SOPs and all legislative requirements, • Work collaboratively with the Transport Manager and wider team to drive performance, • Analyse operational data to identify improvements, cost savings and efficiencies, • Manage daily office operations, including task allocation and workload management, • Produce and maintain accurate driver rotas, ensuring fairness and minimum utilisation targets (45hrs/week), • Maintain detailed records for rota management, charging, KPIs and reporting, • Compile UK-wide analysis, weekly operational reports and presentation packs, • Support and develop staff through coaching, training and wellbeing meetings, • Ensure customer service standards are consistently met and take proactive action on repeated issues, • Follow HR procedures, supporting welfare, performance and development conversations, • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, drivers, customers and stakeholders, • Drive continuous improvement and manage change positively, • Ensure all audits reach 95%+ compliance, • Promote strong housekeeping standards (“clean-as-you-go” approach), • Carry out any additional duties supporting the transport operation Shift Pattern; Monday to Friday 12pm to 8pm Experience & Qualifications Required • Strong IT capability: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, • Ability to manage challenges and develop effective recommendations, • People management experience, • Experience working in a fast-paced transport environment with 20+ drivers, • Able to manage own workload and work effectively as part of a team Whats on Offer • Opportunity to join a leading logistics operation with long-term career potential, • Supportive management team, • Training and development for the right candidate, • Fast-paced, varied role with genuine autonomy
