Fabric Engineer Location: Bicester Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Salary: £35,000 per annum About the Role We are seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join our team at a commercial site in Bicester. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, providing planned and reactive building fabric maintenance to ensure the site remains safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong carpentry background combined with experience in general building maintenance and fabric repairs. Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance works., • Undertake carpentry repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks., • Repair and maintain doors, locks, ironmongery, partitions, ceilings, flooring, and other building fabric elements., • Complete minor painting and decorating, patch plastering, tiling, and general fabric repairs., • Identify building defects and carry out effective remedial works., • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures., • Maintain accurate records of completed works and maintenance activities., • Support the wider facilities maintenance team when required. Essential Requirements • Recognised Carpentry Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)., • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Carpenter, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar building maintenance role., • Good all-round knowledge of commercial building fabric maintenance., • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship., • Good communication and customer service skills.
