Job Description: Nursery Assistant Location: Runcorn, Cheshire Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (flexible) Salary: Competitive (depending on experience and qualifications) Overview We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our early years team in Runcorn. You will support the delivery of high-quality childcare, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5 years. Key Responsibilities • Support the day-to-day care and supervision of children in the nursery, • Assist in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities, • Help create a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment, • Observe children’s development and report progress to senior staff, • Promote children’s social, emotional, and physical development, • Assist with feeding, toileting, and personal care routines, • Work in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements, • Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues, • Set up and tidy away activities and learning resourcesSkills and Experience, • A genuine passion for working with young children, • Good communication and teamwork skills, • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude, • Basic understanding of child development (desirable), • Previous nursery or childcare experience (preferred but not essential), • Ability to follow policies and proceduresQualifications, • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (desirable), • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, • Paediatric First Aid (desirable, training may be provided)Compliance Requirements, • Enhanced DBS check (required), • Right to work in the UK, • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection proceduresWhat We Offer, • Supportive and friendly team environment, • Ongoing training and development opportunities, • Career progression within early years, • Flexible working options (where applicable)How to Apply If you are passionate about helping children thrive and want to be part of a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.
