Senior Electrical Engineer\nLocation: Edinburgh || Contract: Permanent || Salary: Competitive\nOur Edinburgh office is situated in the heart of the bustling city centre, with panoramic views of the castle, gardens and Princes Street below. The office is always alive with activity as it houses a 65-strong team consisting of mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and support teams. The office’s open plan kitchen and staff break out area often plays host to our team’s socialising time, whether it’s over a morning coffee, lunch or after work unwind.\nPurpose\nAs a senior member of the department your responsibilities will include the delivery and project management of the Electrical Services Design on assigned projects. You shall also be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Electrical Services design and post contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow. You shall have supervisory role over junior engineering staff assigned to your projects and shall assist in their personal development.\nYou shall be expected to act as the lead consultant on projects providing M&E representation and input at key stages of the project to other members of the project team as well as ensuring that the M&E requirements are communicated and delivered within Harley Haddow.\nThe position demands excellent communication skills; you will be representing Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members. You are expected to represent the company at meetings in both Mechanical and Electrical Services disciplines.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nApply and enforce office procedures and basic engineering principles\n * General administrative duties\n * Development and management of Assistant and Apprentice Engineers\n * Managing multiple projects\nAssist in the setting of electrical strategies and Concept Designs as part of the RIBA Stage 1, 2 & 3 Design Process\n * Develop project electrical Services strategies\n * Prepare scheme design drawings (from concept right through to detailed design).\n * Prepare outline M&E specification in BCIS format including environmental strategies.\n * Where appropriate input to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports\n * Assist in the preparation of BCIS elemental M&E cost plans.\n * Understand and work within the commercial framework for projects.\n * Prepare and deliver project presentations to client teams\nDetailed Design as part of RIBA Stage 4 production.\n * Responsibility for delivery of Electrical Services detail design.\n * Plan and programme Electrical detailed design process.\n * Supervise and plan workload for Assistant and Apprentice Engineers on projects you are responsible for.\n * Ensure that Electrical Services Detailed output meets quality requirements.\n * Provide conduit between design teams, clients and HH\n * Ensure project delivery meets deadlines and Client’s brief.
