Murray Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of our client, a reputable and expanding company within the fit-out and construction sector. Role Overview This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially astute professional to join a dynamic pre-construction team, playing a key role in pricing projects and managing tender submissions. The successful candidate will have strong experience in estimating from first principles and a solid understanding of construction and fit-out project delivery. Key Responsibilities • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects from first principles, including labour, materials, and subcontractor costs, • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders, • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date quotations and negotiate competitive pricing, • Work closely with the commercial, design, and project delivery teams to ensure consistent and competitive tender submissions, • Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when required, • Identify value engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective alternatives, • Support bid management and contribute to the preparation of bid documentation and presentations, • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating systems Skills & Experience • Proven experience in an Estimator role within the fit-out, construction, or refurbishment sectors, • Strong ability to estimate from first principles with high accuracy, • Familiar with tender processes and documentation, • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail, • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g. ConQuest, Causeway, or similar), • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams, • Organised and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously, • HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline is desirable Offering • Full-time, permanent position based in Lanarkshire, • Monday to Thursday 8am - 4:30pm / Friday 8am - 3:30pm, • Competitive salary, depending on experience, • 30 days holiday including bank holidays, • Company pension scheme, • Opportunities for professional development and training, • Supportive team environment with career progression prospects
