As our Public Engagement Officer, you’ll be at the heart of a team that champions engaged, responsible and socially connected research across the University of Bath. You’ll play a key role in delivering our communications, increasing our digital presence, supporting events and grant schemes, and ensuring our programmes run smoothly. One day you might be producing content that celebrates engaged research, the next supporting a festival event, or helping academics shape ideas with communities through upstream engagement and responsible research and innovation. What you’ll do: • work across teams, independently and collaboratively, to deliver smooth and effective administration and data management., • deliver bold and engaging communications that raise the profile of public engagement with research across multiple channels., • build and nurture a network of enthusiastic researchers and partners across the University., • grow our online presence with fresh, accessible digital resources and creative storytelling., • support our funding schemes, training, events and evaluation activities., • support high-quality public engagement activities; from festivals to workshops to competitions. This is a role where you’ll learn, lead small pieces of work, support others to grow, and see the impact of your contribution across the University. You should be a confident communicator; written, visual, and verbal, who likes connecting with people and making processes better. The Access and Participation Impact team at the University of Bath is looking for someone who enjoys working with data and turning numbers into clear useful insights. The team is responsible for engaging and supporting students from under-represented students to progress to university particularly to Bath to achieve goals set out in the University's Access and Participation Plan. The team is well established and passionate about supporting students and are a fairly informal group. Due to the nature of the work there is flexibility with working times, much of the work is structured around the school day so many events happen in the afternoons, evenings or weekends. The work the team delivers is varied and ranges from in school and online activity to campus based events as well as sustained programmes for groups of students. The team works a lot with third sector organisations to be able to support as many students as possible. As our Data and Evaluation Officer, you will • play a central role in monitoring the impact of the University’s outreach, access and participation intervention, programmes and projects., • support the measurement of progress towards targets, goals and objectives as set out in our Access and Participation Plan (APP) ., • be a key member of the Access and Participation Impact team, working alongside the Head of Impact to monitor progress towards our APP targets and milestones. You’ll collaborate with the APP Impact Manager (Monitoring) to share insights across the institution and encourage engagement. You will also work with the APP Impact Manager (Evaluation) to deliver our ten core research projects. These projects require advanced quantitative skills, including cleaning, modelling and analysing large and complex datasets. A key element of the role is providing advice and guidance on evaluation to colleagues across the University. You will support teams, in particular within the Student Recruitment and Admissions department, to improve their data management and analytical approaches, ensuring that evaluation activity meets a consistently high standard. You will also support colleagues to analyse, interpret and report on their findings. The ideal candidate will bring expert skills in data extraction and manipulation from a range of systems and sources, alongside the ability to analyse report on and present data in appropriate formats for internal and external audiences. As a highly numerate and expert user of tools such as Python, Stata, SPSS, R and/or MS Excel, you will analyse student and survey data to identify trends in access and participation outcomes across the student lifecycle. You will communicate these insights to senior stakeholders, including the Deputy Director for Access, Recruitment and Outreach, using data visualisation tools such as PowerBi to create compelling and engaging outputs. We pride ourselves on developing players to reach their full potential by offering a truly professional hockey pathway, with a fully committed interdisciplinary team working with players daily. We are looking to employ a performance hockey coach who can work across both Women's and Men's programmes, providing technical, tactical and development feedback while leading coaching sessions with one of the performance squads. We are seeking an experienced hockey coach to support the head coach with the successful development, delivery and management of the University of Bath performance hockey programme. Off-pitch, you will lead video analysis sessions with the players and attend weekly S&C sessions led by the IDT team.
