NLB Solutions are working with a manufacturing business that are looking for a Qualified Accountant to join as a Financial Controller for a period of 6 months on a fixed term contract. Our client is looking for someone that comes from a similar background and work closely with hands on and dynamic MD. This role has one person reporting in to them and will be office based for the 6 months but this role is now live as the company will be recruiting for this role on a permanent basis in the future. \n The business offers a fast paced environment that is based alongside the manufacturing site. They are looking someone that can commit to completing the full 6 months with the possibility of the role converting into a permanent opportunity. \n Duties: \n\n • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close\n, • Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.\n, • Deliver accurate profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.\n, • Prepare management accounts, KPI reporting, and detailed variance analysis.\n, • Ensure timely reporting to corporate finance teams.\n, • Financial Planning & Analysis\n, • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.\n, • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.\n, • Develop and enhance reporting tools and financial analysis capabilities.\n, • Perform pricing evaluations and profitability analysis.\n, • Compliance & Controls\n, • Maintain compliance with UK statutory reporting requirements, US GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.\n, • Strengthen financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives.\n, • Ensure completion and sign-off of balance sheet reconciliations.\n, • Manage VAT returns, corporation tax packs, payroll submissions, and statutory filings.\n, • Manufacturing Finance\n, • Lead annual standard cost roll and absorption costing activities.\n, • Oversee inventory valuation and annual stock take processes.\n, • Support operations with manufacturing performance reporting.\n, • Monitor capital expenditure and fixed asset management.\n, • Audit & Treasury\n, • Manage external and internal audit processes.\n, • Coordinate activities with tax, payroll, and R&D teams.\n, • Oversee working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.\n, • Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.\n, • Systems & Reporting\n, • Oversee OneStream reporting, budgeting, and forecasting submissions.\n, • Support ERP and finance system improvements.\n, • Manage lease accounting and reporting requirements.\n\n Person Spec: \n\n • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).\n, • Significant experience in a Finance Director, Financial Controller, or senior finance leadership role.\n, • Manufacturing experience preferred.\n, • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, SOX, and statutory reporting.\n, • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.\n, • Proven leadership and team development skills.\n\n
