Because that’s what drives you to be better, be more and ultimately, be more fulfilled MS Teams Operator Connect Project Manager Role Overview The MS Teams Operator Connect Project Manager is responsible for delivering the organization’s end‑to‑end transition to Microsoft Teams Operator Connect. This role spans the entire lifecycle — from gathering requirements through RFP execution, vendor selection, contracting, risk assessment, migration planning, deployment, and business readiness. The position requires a blend of project leadership, unified communications (UC) domain expertise, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to design repeatable processes for large‑scale telephony transformation. Key Responsibilities 1. Requirements Gathering & Discovery • Lead structured workshops with business units, technical teams, support operations, and architecture to capture functional and technical requirements for Operator Connect., • Produce clear business requirement documents, technical specifications, compliance needs, operational workflows, SLAs, and readiness criteria., • Identify integration points, dependencies, regulatory considerations (e.g., emergency calling), and operational support impacts. 2. RFP Development & Vendor Evaluation • Translate requirements into a complete RFP package aligned with enterprise procurement standards., • Identify suitable Operator Connect carriers and assess their capabilities, footprint, resilience, and pricing models., • Coordinate closely with Procurement, Legal, Security, Compliance, and Architecture to issue the RFP and manage the full vendor engagement lifecycle., • Lead vendor briefings, Q&A, scoring, commercial comparisons, and structured evaluation workshops., • Produce final vendor selection recommendations supported by objective scoring and stakeholder alignment. 3. Contracting & Risk Management • Drive the selected vendor through contracting, redlining, negotiation, and commercial finalization., • Coordinate internal reviews such as Third‑Party Risk Management, Security Assessments, Privacy/DPAs, and regulatory compliance checks., • Ensure all contractual obligations support the organization’s operational, technical, and service continuity requirements. 4. Deployment Planning & Migration Execution 4.1 Baseline Discovery & Inventory • Collect and consolidate baseline telephony inventory, including:, • Existing carrier contracts, • Number ranges, DID blocks, service types, routing, and geographic footprints, • Legacy systems, SBC dependencies, emergency calling setup, • Develop a structured number‑porting strategy across multiple carriers and geographies., • Submit porting requests, track progress, resolve rejections, and manage escalations., • Establish detailed migration waves considering business criticality, operational readiness, and minimizing disruption., • Define and oversee end‑to‑end test plans covering:, • Number provisioning and routing validation, • Call flows (inbound/outbound/internal), • Emergency calling verification, • Network readiness testing (QoS, latency, bandwidth), • Failover and resilience testing, • Coordinate deployment teams, vendors, and business stakeholders through pilot, phased rollout, and full-scale migration., • Oversee cutover events, validate successful number activation, and quickly manage any post‑cutover issues., • Ensure all activities follow a repeatable, scalable migration framework. 5. Process Design, Communication & Reporting 5.1 Repeatable Migration Process • Develop standardized processes and templates for:, • Intake and onboarding of new business units, • Porting workflows, • User readiness and activation, • Testing procedures, • Issue tracking and escalation, • Establish communication plans for users, business stakeholders, and leadership., • Provide clear messaging for migration timelines, requirements, outages, testing, and cutover instructions., • Produce regular program updates, dashboards, risk logs, and executive steering materials., • Monitor KPIs, adoption, service performance, and vendor SLA adherence., • Drive issue resolution and ensure the program remains on schedule and within scope. Required Skills & Experience • Proven experience delivering global UCaaS or telephony transformation projects (Microsoft Teams, Operator Connect, Direct Routing, SIP)., • Strong technical understanding of telephony, number routing, SBCs, emergency calling, and carrier services., • Expertise with RFP development, vendor evaluation, procurement processes, and contracting cycles., • Experience designing repeatable migration processes and managing large‑scale number porting programs., • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross‑team leadership skills., • Structured project management capabilities (risks, timelines, RAID logs, governance). Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft Teams Voice or Operator Connect certifications., • Background working with global telecom carriers and enterprise telephony consolidation programs., • Experience with enterprise regulatory requirements (911/E911, GDPR, call recording compliance, etc.).
