Job Description We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our KierBam JV project at Devonport Dockyard based in Plymouth, Devon. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall we are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site \n\n Location: Site Based, Plymouth, Devon \n Hours: Permanent 42.5 hours per week \n We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidate for this role \n Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made – BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding NATO or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role. \n Responsibilities \n As a Section Engineer you'll be working within the Nuclear team, supporting them in delivering the redevelopment project at the Dockyard \n Your day to day will include: \n \n Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances. \n Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly \n Manage the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding. \n Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work. \n To manage in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity. \n \n\n What are we looking for as a Section Engineer? \n This role of Section Engineer is great for you if: \n \n Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship. \n SSSTS and CSCS – White PQP/AQP \n May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body \n \n\n We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! We are seeking a CAD Engineer to join us on a Major Project at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth, Devon where we are refurbishing the Royal Navy dockyard. \n Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. \n Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. \n Location: Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth - occasional working from home may be available. \n Hours: 42.5 hours per week \n We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. \n\n Responsibilities \n As a CAD Engineer, you'll be working within the KierBAM JV Nuclear team, supporting them in on a Major Project at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth, Devon where we are refurbishing the Royal Navy dockyard. \n Your day to day will include: \n \n Act as a subject matter expert for the production of drawings and provide technical support to personnel as and when required and represent the company where necessary at internal and external meetings. \n Ensure that all drawing work is carried out in compliance with ISO 19650, BAM and CAD standards and provide Drawing production training, both to the team members and to the supply chain. \n Provide support to the Document Control team to review Drawings before submitting to the client. \n Understand the hardware and software requirements on the project and communicate with the BIM Lead and Project information Manager. \n Maintain high safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies and report any inadequacies \n \n\n What are we looking for? \n This role of CAD Engineer is great for you if: \n \n Experienced in rebar design and checking. \n Have good understanding of civil/structural design and principles. \n Have a strong background in producing drawings \n Proficient in AutoCAD, \n Able to train and mentor site engineers and others to produce in accordance with standards. \n \n\n We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
