Salary: £38,000 p/annum & 3% Pension Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week) Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer Holidays: 28 Days plus Bank Holidays Company Description Race Equality First is an independent charity and race equality council based in Cardiff, Wales, committed to promoting equality and combating discrimination. The organisation provides free, confidential advice and support to victims of hate crime, harassment, and discrimination. Race Equality First also delivers impactful projects, anti-racism campaigns, and facilitates anti-racist education within schools. Additionally, the organisation trains businesses and institutions to establish inclusive and equitable policies and practices. Main Duties Project Leadership & Delivery • Lead overall delivery of the project across all regions of Wales., • Develop and oversee detailed delivery plans, ensuring milestones and outputs are achieved., • Coordinate delivery across all partners, including Cardiff University, Wildlife Trusts, Repair Café Wales and Green Squirrel., • Chair partnership meetings and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships., • Line manage project staff, including two Community Climate Officers and the Digital Hub Officer and the Monitoring and Data Officer., • Support staff performance, wellbeing and professional development., • Manage the project budget, ensuring value for money and compliance with funder requirements., • Oversee partner spend and financial reporting., • Ensure delivery is inclusive, culturally appropriate and accessible to diverse communities., • Embed co-design and community leadership throughout the project., • Work with Cardiff University to ensure robust monitoring and evaluation systems are in place., • Oversee data collection, reporting and learning outputs., • Support policy engagement and dissemination of project learning., • Represent REF and the project at external meetings, events and conferences., • Contribute to strategic discussions on climate justice and racial equity in Wales. Person Specification Essential • Proven experience of managing complex, multi-partner projects., • Strong leadership and team management skills., • Experience of managing budgets and funder reporting requirements., • Experience of working with diverse communities, particularly Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities., • Strong organisational and coordination skills., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills., • Knowledge of climate change, sustainability or environmental issues., • Experience of working with public sector or policy stakeholders., • Experience of partnership working across multiple regions., • Ability to work flexible hours as some evening or weekend work may be required., • Desirably the ability to speak an ethnic minority language., • Ability to travel around Wales and visit project partners where required.
