Project Manager – New Build Community (CIVIC) Scheme Location: Winchester / Berkshire (site-based with regional office support) Salary: £85,000+ plus package (flexible for the right candidate) The Company We are representing a well-established, employee-owned Tier 2 main contractor with over 50 years of trading history and a current turnover in excess of £150m. Project Managers are given real autonomy and are trusted to lead schemes from start to finish. The Role Due to continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the design and build delivery of a new community hub scheme, valued at approximately £13.7m. The project involves the construction of a modern, purpose-built community facility designed to support engagement, wellbeing, and cohesion within a growing local population. It is a high-profile, stakeholder-facing scheme delivered in partnership with a local authority / parish council, requiring strong leadership, communication, and programme control. This is a key appointment, offering full end-to-end responsibility and excellent visibility within the business. Key Responsibilities • Full Project Manager responsibility for a £13.7m new build D&B scheme, • Managing the project from pre-construction and design development through to completion and handover, • Programme planning, cost control, and commercial performance, • Managing consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, • Acting as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders, • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and statutory requirements, • Reporting project progress and performance to senior leadership Candidate Profile • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor, • Strong new build and design & build experience, • Track record of delivering projects in the £10m–£25m range, • Experience working on public sector, community, education, or civic schemes is advantageous, • Confident managing stakeholder-heavy projects and client-facing environments, • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, • Able to work regionally across Berkshire / Hampshire What’s on Offer • £85,000+ salary, with flexibility for the right individual, • Comprehensive benefits package and long-term progression opportunities, • The opportunity to work for a financially secure, employee-owned contractor, • High levels of autonomy and influence over project delivery, • Clear pathway to Senior Project Manager / Regional leadership roles Why This Role?
