ROLE PURPOSE: The Regional General Manager is a key member of the EP Leadership Team and holds strategic and operational accountability for student experience, product quality, safeguarding, compliance, and commercial performance across an assigned group of centres. In addition, the role holds direct responsibility for the leadership and performance of EP London, managing the centre in partnership with the Director of Studies and with full accountability for its operational delivery and P&L performance. The role provides leadership, governance, and performance oversight to ensure all centres operate in line with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, financial targets, and organisational policies. Centre Managers report directly into this role, alongside the direct management of the London Centre. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Operational Management: • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for an assigned group of EP Learning Centres., • Line-manage, coach, and mentor Centre Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality academic and student services., • Monitor all operational functions to ensure schools run efficiently, effectively, profitably, and with a strong student focus., • Conduct regular school visits, operational audits, and performance reviews., • Act as second line of escalation for student complaints and refund requests., • Ensure centres operate in full compliance with commercial, legal, regulatory, safeguarding/Prevent (or local equivalent), and accreditation requirements., • Liaise with Corporate Support and Shared Services to ensure high service levels for Centres., • Support the Head of Young Learners with UK young learner and group programmes as needed., • Oversee the development and implementation of new courses in collaboration with the Senior Management Team. Quality, Academic Standards, Safeguarding & Student Experience: • Champion exceptional student experience and positive outcomes across all centres, ensuring provision is inclusive, engaging, and aligned to learner needs., • Set and embed consistent standards for academic quality, student services, safeguarding, and operational practice across the region., • Drive continuous improvement through the use of data, feedback, audits, and performance review., • Hold accountability for the effectiveness of safeguarding arrangements across all centres within the region., • Provide governance oversight of safeguarding, including under-18 provision, accommodation arrangements, and third-party partnerships., • Ensure all DSLs are appropriately trained, supported, and operating in line with statutory and regulatory guidance., • Review safeguarding audits, serious incidents, and complaints, ensuring actions are implemented and learning embedded., • Ensure compliance with safeguarding training requirements across all roles., • Promote a strong culture of professional practice and continuous professional development across academic and operational teams., • Use student feedback, outcomes data, and inspection findings to inform improvement in teaching, learning, and the overall student experience. Commercial Performance & Financial Management: • Set performance targets, monitor KPIs, and take action to meet or exceed commercial and academic goals., • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for each school., • Review financial performance with Centre Managers, addressing variances and implementing corrective actions., • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls. Compliance & Accreditation: • Accountable for inspection outcomes and regulatory compliance across all centres within the region., • Leads response to regulatory findings, conditions, action plans, and external audit recommendations., • Acts as senior operational contact for regulators, accreditation bodies, and external agencies where required., • Ensures all centres maintain continuous inspection readiness. Sales, Marketing & Business Development, • Partner with marketing, admissions, and academic teams to support student recruitment and programme development., • Support the sales team with individual and group booking requests., • Identify growth opportunities and contribute to business development initiatives., • Maintain awareness of market trends and competitor activity., • Represent EP at partner visits, recruitment fairs, and other sales or promotional events. Corporate Contribution & Cross-Organisational Collaboration: • Contribute to business planning, strategy formulation, and organisational development., • Lead and participate in cross-school projects aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and innovation., • Represent schools at internal leadership meetings and relevant external forums., • Maintain confidentiality of all internal company information. Accommodation & Welfare Oversight: • Provide regional oversight of accommodation operations across centres., • Monitor student allocation practices, provider relationships and safeguarding controls., • Ensure quality standards and contractual requirements are met., • Accountable for safeguarding, welfare, and compliance within accommodation operations, including host families and third-party providers., • Ensure serious accommodation-related incidents are reviewed, escalated, and managed appropriately., • Oversee contractual compliance and quality assurance of accommodation partners., • Support performance improvement in accommodation operations. General Responsibilities: • Address operational, welfare, or staffing issues promptly to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and staff., • Promote EP’s values, equal opportunities principles, and organisational policies., • Support EP’s environmental, social, and governance commitments, minimising environmental impact in all activities., • Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety responsibilities, contributing to a secure environment for staff, students, and visitors., • Travel to other campuses to provide leadership, training, and support when required. EP London- Centre Management: In addition to regional responsibilities, this role will hold direct accountability for the overall performance and management of the EP London Centre, ensuring student satisfaction, strong academic delivery, operational effectiveness, and commercial performance. This includes responsibility to: • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the London school, ensuring smooth operational delivery across all functions., • Hold P&L accountability for the London centre, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue performance., • Monitor key performance indicators (student numbers, retention, satisfaction, revenue, margin) and take corrective action where required., • Ensure the London centre consistently meets expectations for student experience, safeguarding, compliance, academic quality, and commercial performance., • Lead on staffing, resource planning, performance management, and team development for the EP London., • Ensure the centre remains fully inspection-ready and compliant with accreditation, regulatory and organisational requirements., • Act as escalation point for complex student, staffing, safeguarding or operational issues within the London school. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Essential: • Experience managing multiple sites, departments, or teams in an education, training, or service-focused environment., • Proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing managers and staff., • Experience in delivering high-quality student/customer experiences across a multi-site organisation., • Experience in financial management, budgeting, and resource planning., • Strong understanding of operational management, quality assurance, and customer service principles., • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and welfare requirements in educational settings., • Awareness of compliance frameworks, accreditation standards, and regulatory obligations., • Understanding of business planning, commercial drivers, and financial performance indicators. Desirable, • Understanding of international student recruitment pathways and partner networks., • Experience of new course development or supporting academic innovation., • Experience collaborating with sales, admissions, or marketing teams.
