Purchasing Assistant - Chichester, PO19 7BJThe role is part of the core supply chain planning team at Wixroyd Group Ltd, where you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring goods and raw materials for in house manufacturing.Key responsibilities include focusing on supplier timely delivery, supplier negotiation and communication, quality of products as per our standard along with supplier performance monitoring and ensuring operational efficiency within the team.The role will work closely with our customer service team and the business development team to ensure we are fulfilling customer needs and requests in a timely manner from our suppliers.ResponsibilitiesLiaising with suppliersRaising quotations with suppliersRaising and processing supplier purchase ordersOper order book managementProactively expedite orders with suppliers to ensure excellent customer on time delivery and minimise overdue ordersActively challenge supplier lead times and minimum order quantitiesTrack purchase orders by working with suppliers, couriers and goods in teamLogistics - understanding of Inco terms and arranging shipment collections via air, road and sea freightLiaises with suppliers to ensure any quality issues are resolved in a timely mannerUpdating and communicating delivery changes or delays to customer orders to the customer service teamCo-ordinating returns to suppliersMonitor supplier OTD performance, communication, product quality and pricing at the end of each periodEnsure the ERP parameters (supplier pricing, supplier records, supplier product codes, lead times, MOQs) are maintained and updated where necessary by working with the marketing team to ensure they are uploaded onto our ERP systemOther duties in connection with supply chain control and improvement as requiredSkills and ExperienceA positive mindset - seeing inefficiencies and challenges as possibilities for improvementsExcellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with other teams and external suppliersConscientious with good attention to detailDeliver results in a timely manner along with good problem-solving attitudeIndependent, flexible and inventiveWell organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectivelyFollows policies and proceduresComplies with safe and fair working practicesCIPD (desirable)Logistics experience (Desirable)What we offerCompetitive salaryDiscretionary bonusUp to 5% matched pension contribution4x annual salary life assurance25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysExtra paid day off for your birthdayAdditional holiday purchase schemePaid day off for volunteeringReward GatewayEyecare vouchersUK Sharesave SchemeOur company operates on a two-shift basis (on-site) which rotates weekly, to ensure the best service for our customers.Shift times areWeek 1: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 and Week 2: Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 17:30.
