Working closely with Boards, Chairs, executive leadership teams and investors, the firm delivers Executive Search alongside Strategic Leadership Advisory services, including executive assessment, board assessment, remuneration consulting, coaching, mentoring and leadership development. With an international presence and ambitious growth plans, the business is seeking a Principal Associate to join its expanding team. Research Team Role & Responsibilities Supported by strong commercial performance and ambitious growth plans, the business continues to expand internationally, develop new sector expertise and strengthen its board-level network. Investment in experienced consultants, a high-performing research team and leading technology platforms forms a key part of the firm's long-term strategy. Overview of the Role – Senior Research Associate Reporting to the Director of Research & Product, the Principal Associate sits between Senior Associate and Consultant. The role focuses on delivering executive search assignments while ensuring an exceptional client and candidate experience. The position represents the natural progression from Senior Associate, with Consultant being the next career step. Those choosing to remain at Principal level are encouraged to develop recognised expertise within a sector or functional specialism. Responsibilities include: • Supporting Directors/Partners in delivering executive search assignments from briefing through to placement and onboarding., • Managing search projects to ensure outstanding execution and client service., • Leading candidate identification, qualification and engagement., • Preparing assignment documentation including role briefs, interview summaries and candidate reports., • Maintaining accurate market, client and candidate information within the firm's database., • Sharing market intelligence and supporting practice growth., • Supporting business development, marketing initiatives and practice planning., • Contributing to pitch preparation and client presentations., • Coaching and developing Associates, Researchers, Executive Assistants and interns., • Supporting continuous improvement of internal processes and knowledge sharing., • Assisting Directors in developing new business opportunities. Search Strategy, Process & Project Management • Develop search strategies, candidate competency frameworks, role specifications and target company lists., • Manage assignment timelines., • Support practice business development planning., • Project manage searches to ensure consistent delivery quality. Candidate Interaction • Lead market mapping, sourcing and candidate engagement., • Conduct competency-based interviews., • Guide candidates throughout the search process., • Participate in referencing where appropriate., • Build long-term candidate relationships. Client Interaction • Attend client meetings and progress updates., • Build trusted client relationships., • Support business development and client pitches., • Participate in networking and industry events. Documentation • Prepare high-quality search strategies, candidate reports, client updates, job descriptions, references and presentations., • Produce accurate, client-ready documentation. Supporting the Business • Champion data quality and process improvement., • Share knowledge across practice areas., • Contribute to business development initiatives., • Support cross-practice collaboration., • Mentor and coach junior colleagues. Success Measures Success will be measured by: • Delivery of 15–20 executive search assignments per year., • Exceptional quality of execution., • Proactive, solutions-focused approach., • High levels of client and candidate satisfaction., • Recognition as a collaborative role model., • Strong communication across the business. Ideal Candidate Degree educated, you will already be working with clients within a professional services environment and be able to demonstrate: • 10+ years' executive search experience within a reputable firm., • Strong client service orientation., • Collaborative and team-focused approach., • Excellent project management skills., • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking., • Ability to build relationships at C-suite level., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • High levels of motivation and drive., • Experience or interest within Industrials or related sectors., • Fluent business English., • Excellent attention to detail.
