Your role at BRE As an Energy Consultant in our Research & Innovation team, you will play a key role in delivering technical work for government and industry clients, focusing on energy efficiency and decarbonisation in the built environment. Key responsibilities include: • Conduct energy modelling using SAP, SBEM, HEM, and other relevant tools to support project delivery, • Analyse and interpret building performance data to inform policy and programme development, • Prepare clear, technically robust reports and contribute to written deliverables for clients and stakeholders, • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality, evidence-based outcomes, • Support the development of bids and proposals for new consultancy and research projects, • A strong foundation in energy modelling, with experience using tools such as SAP, SBEM or HEM, • Proven ability to analyse technical data and translate findings into clear, actionable outputs, • Experience contributing to or delivering technical reports, briefings or client deliverables, • An understanding of UK energy policy, building performance standards, or public sector research, • Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, project-based environment, • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Python or R, • Master's or PHD, • Building Physics, • Sustainable Energy Systems, • Energy Demand, • Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, Building Services) Help BRE make buildings safer and more sustainable!
