Senior Systems Integrity Support Officer • Job title: Senior Systems Integrity Support Officer • Salary: POA £41,487 – £44,700 per annum • Contract: Permanent, full time • Location: Wakefield Looking for a senior finance systems role where you can make a real impact? This key position sits within West Yorkshire Police’s Finance Directorate, within the Business Development team, playing a vital role in optimising and developing the financial and procurement systems that underpin policing services across West Yorkshire. We’re looking for a technically capable, solutions focused professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a specialist team, managing complex systems and data with accuracy and assurance. As a senior member of the Systems Integrity Team, you’ll lead on improving system integrity, automation and reporting, supporting Finance and Accounting teams across the Force. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, ensuring data quality, system security and reliable management information to support informed decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance systems professional to take on a senior role with real responsibility, influence and purpose in public service. Role and Responsibilities You will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation, integrity and future development of the Force’s financial and procurement systems. This includes leading data quality activity, supporting system users, managing improvements and contributing to strategic systems development. Key duties include: • Leading the planning, coordination and management of data quality, management information and analytics activity across the Directorate • Providing expert advice, guidance and technical support to financial system users • Designing and delivering financial systems training to build capability and confidence • Developing, enhancing and maintaining financial systems, processes and reports • Supporting the ongoing development of Force wide finance and procurement systems, ensuring effective integration with other platforms • Analysing and monitoring system inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance • Overseeing supplier payment processing and supporting debt recovery activity • Acting as a subject matter expert for system access, master data and workflow configuration • Supporting system upgrades, testing and implementations, including data mapping, cleansing and reconciliation • Supporting and developing Assistant Accountants and Apprentice Accounting Technicians through mentoring and guidance • Building productive relationships with external consultants and digital policing specialists There may be occasional requirements to work flexibly within the 7am–7pm flexi bandwidth to support essential operational needs. Expectations To succeed in this role, you will be expected to: • Communicate confidently and clearly with finance colleagues, system users and senior stakeholders • Apply strong analytical skills to identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities • Investigate and resolve complex system and data anomalies • Manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines • Work collaboratively while providing leadership and technical expertise within the team Essential Criteria • AAT qualification, part qualified CCAB status and substantial relevant experience • Experience managing finance and procurement system packages • Strong working knowledge of financial processes and procedures • Advanced spreadsheet and database management skills • Excellent analytical, communication and problem solving skills Desirable: • Experience using Sun Accounts and/or Proactis Spend Control Benefits / What We Offer West Yorkshire Police staff can access a wide range of benefits designed to support work–life balance, wellbeing, development and financial security.
