Job Title: Production Leader Location: Merseyside Salary: £48,000 – £50,000 + Benefits Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Days About the Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Leader to join a highly regulated chemical manufacturing business based in Merseyside. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production operations while driving continuous improvement across the site. You will play a hands-on operational role, leading from the front while developing both processes and people. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage a team of 3 direct reports and approximately 30 indirect reports within production and operations., • Take ownership of day-to-day production activities, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements., • Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilising tools such as root cause analysis and fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams to identify and resolve operational issues., • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, supporting teams and ensuring best practices are consistently followed., • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards within a highly regulated manufacturing environment., • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to optimise performance., • Develop, coach, and mentor team members to enhance capability and engagement., • Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance. About You • Proven experience in a production leadership or supervisory role within a regulated manufacturing environment (chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar)., • Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving tools (e.g., fishbone analysis, root cause analysis)., • A hands-on leader who is comfortable working on the shop floor and engaging directly with teams., • Demonstrated experience managing both direct and indirect reports., • Strong knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing., • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams., • A proactive mindset with a passion for driving operational excellence and improvement.
