Lockheed Martin MFC is seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our dynamic team based from our ___ in Ampthill, Bedfordshire In this pivotal role, you’ll play a key part in driving collaboration across Lockheed Martin’s business areas — including MFC, RMS, and LM Space — helping to shape future opportunities and deliver on strategic business objectives. Working closely with Business Development Leads, Capture Managers, and Competitive Intelligence Analysts, you’ll support early opportunity development, framework management, and cross-functional coordination. You’ll help ensure that capture activities are effectively planned, communicated, and aligned with Lockheed Martin’s broader business strategy. This position offers excellent opportunities for career growth in Business Development, Capture Management, and Project Management, with comprehensive training and mentorship provided. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate engagement across Lockheed Martin business units (RMS, LM Space, and others) to support early-stage business development and framework opportunities, • Manage and track framework opportunities through bid readiness, milestones, and gate reviews, • Act as the main point of contact for framework coordination and opportunity tracking within Ampthill, • Maintain accurate databases and trackers for all framework activities, ensuring visibility and traceability, • Support internal communications, including briefings, meeting notes, and reports for senior leadership, • Prepare structured documentation to support gate reviews and daily business operations, • Assist BD Leads with research, strategy development, and project coordination, • Support Competitive Intelligence and Capture teams by analysing competitor and stakeholder landscapes Required skills, qualifications and experience • Proven experience in a Programme Management Support or Business Development support role, • Familiarity with business capture or proposal development phases of programmes, • Experience preparing and reporting business forecasts (e.g. orders, sales forecasts), • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong customer focus and relationship-building capability, • Confident presenter, able to deliver materials to peers and leadership, • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Desirable skills • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, • Knowledge of defence, aerospace, or technology campaigns, • Experience contributing to proposal documents (e.g. PQQ responses), • Familiarity with UK MoD or UK Government procurement processes What we offer you At Lockheed Martin our employees come first and therefore your physical, mental and financial wellbeing matters to us.
