Your new roleThey are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant SENCo to support the leadership and delivery of SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with the Deputy Head (Inclusion/SENCo) to ensure high-quality teaching, effective interventions and positive outcomes for pupils with SEND, including those with SEMH and pastoral needs.Key responsibilities include: • Supporting the strategic and day-to-day management of SEND provision, • Leading and delivering targeted interventions and monitoring pupil progress, • Supporting teachers and staff to implement effective inclusive practice, • Assisting with EHCPs, learning plans and the school provision map, • Working collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies, • Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment, • Providing direct support to pupils, including those with SEMH and additional needs What you'll need to succeed • Experience working with pupils with SEND, including SEMH needs, • Proven experience delivering and leading interventions, • Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education, • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, • Ability to lead, support and motivate staff, • A compassionate, patient and adaptable approach, • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent), • Strong ICT skills to support learning and track progress What you'll get in return • Competitive daily rate / salary (dependent on experience), • Opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive school, • Access to ongoing CPD and professional development, • Dedicated Hays consultant to support you throughout your placement What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
