You do not need to have built agentic workflows from scratch, although it is a strong plus if you have. What you do need is to have genuinely worked in an agentic way yourself. That means using something like Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot properly. Handing it a plan, letting it implement, running the loop, reviewing the output. Not autocomplete. And on something real that you owned and maintained over weeks or months, not a weekend project you abandoned. The reason this matters is that understanding how an agent behaves, where it succeeds and where it falls over, is the same understanding the product itself is built on.
