Customer Support Engineer: For one of our globally leading tech clients we are urgently looking for an experienced Customer Support Engineer for a long contract based in Edinburgh, UK Its paying well and my client can interview asap! Key Responsibilities • Provide L2/L3 support for DERMS applications, integrations, and services, • Monitor system availability, performance, and data flows between DERMS, SCADA, ADMS, EMS, and DERs, • Handle incidents, service requests, and escalations in line with SLA commitments, • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes, • Support patching, upgrades, deployments, and configuration changes, • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve scalability, reliability, and cybersecurity, • Maintain knowledge base articles, SOPs, and runbooks, • Provide technical support for DER aggregation, forecasting, optimization, scheduling, and dispatch, • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for critical incidents, • Ensure adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management) Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience), • 3+ years experience in application support, energy management systems, or grid operations platforms, • Strong understanding of DERMS functions and distributed energy resources (solar, wind, batteries, EVs), • Proficiency in Linux/Unix, databases (SQL / Oracle / PostgreSQL), and APIs/integration tools, • Strong troubleshooting across application, middleware, and network layers, • Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, etc.), • Familiarity with SCADA, ADMS, EMS, OMS, or similar grid systems, • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills • Prior experience supporting DERMS or OT/IT grid management platforms, • Knowledge of GridOS ecosystem and DERMS integration, • Exposure to cybersecurity standards (NERC CIP, ISO 27001, SOC2), • Cloud / hybrid deployment experience (Azure, AWS), • Certifications: ITIL, Security+, utility-specific systems training, • Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) If this is you, then please do not delay in applying!
