Job Requisition Number 7891 Work TypePermanent Job FunctionOperational Salary Range27089.00-30779.00 BaseGowerton Closing Date23:59 on 19/08/2025 As a Process Operator a key element of this role will be operating and maintaining of all DCWW asset types including wastewater Treatment works Sewage pumping stations and combined sewer overflows ensuring 100% compliance with all regulatory standards. You should be willing to develop your knowledge & skills around wastewater treatment processes take part in on the job training and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include: • Taking responsibility for operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect environment; general maintenance of equipment and site taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance, • Taking responsibility for identifying and where applicable undertaking reactive work as required. Raising reactive work for equipment when required and liaising with multi-discipline craft team on facilitating repairs, • Identifying potential pollution risks from our assets taking measures to prevent pollution and escalating when required, • Liaising and coordinating with the area Supervisor and team members on operating activities and continuous improvement for the area, • Taking responsibility for personal and colleagues safety through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures, • Understanding and adhering to quality system requirements to ensure audit compliance, • Taking ownership of sites ensuring house-keeping standards are maintained and defects reported, • Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites, • Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation, • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business, • Strong working relationships within the catchment wastewater treatment team including Performance Manager Operations Coordinator Craft team, • Advice and support from Science and Support Statutory Maintenance Wastewater Assets, • Liaison with local network team External • Liaison with Environment Agency and/or NRW, • Liaison and assistance with external contractors and Capital partners Knowledge Skills & Experience • NVQ Level 2 or higher BTEC ONC/HNC qualifications in Wastewater Treatment Process Operations is desirable but not essential, • Demonstrable experience of compliance and adherence to Health & safety standards, • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day, • Team player willing to take part in all necessary training requirements required for the role, • Computer systems literate including SAP Scope X Microsoft Word and Excel, • Team player willing to take part in all necessary training requirements required for the role, • The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota (1 in 11) and working 1 in 5 weekends (5hrs sat and 5hrs Sunday), • A UK Drivers licence is required for the role, • A company vehicle will be provided For more information on the role please contact As well as a market competitive salary 33 days annual leave (pro rata including public holidays) we offer a range of employee benefits and rewards including: • Option to buy additional annual leave up to 5 days per year, • Enhanced employer pension contributions Up to 11% employer contributions, • Free Mortgage Brokering Services, • Enhanced family friendly policies, • Progression opportunities including the ability to apply for funded training and coaching and mentoring programmes, • Gym and fitness discounts as well as high street shopping, • Cycle to work scheme, • Discount off all Welsh Water visitor attraction centres and gift shops, • Car-leasing scheme and free on-site parking at all sites, • Health CashBack scheme and access to an online GP service, • An employee assistance programme for employees and their immediate family, • Many more can be found on our website.
