Senior Litigation Supervisor with a focus on Property Litigation Salary: Up to £60,000 Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home) We are recruiting a Senior Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join and supervise our Defended Dispute Resolution (DDR) team, focusing on the arrears recovery side of defended litigation, including service charge and debt recovery matters. This role has arisen due to a leaver and forms part of a small, close-knit specialist team, with strong prospects for future growth. You will take ownership of defended arrears litigation once matters escalate beyond pre-action recovery, acting as both a hands-on fee earner and a technical lead, supporting junior colleagues and driving cases through to resolution or trial where required. The Role Leadership & Supervision • Supervise and support a small team of fee earners within the DDR function, • Act as the first escalation point for technical litigation and procedural queries, • Quality-check pleadings, applications, and key litigation documents, • Assist with workload management and identifying process or efficiency improvements, • Support team performance across billing, recovery, and case progression targets Fee-Earning & Case Management • Manage a caseload of defended debt and service charge recovery matters, • Handle files from defence through to settlement, enforcement, or trial, • Assess merits, risks, and commercial outcomes upon receipt of defended claims, • Progress landlord and tenant-related disputes, including service charge and arrears claims, • Deal with interim applications (e.g. strike-out, summary judgment, enforcement challenges), • Draft and review:, • Statements of case, • Court applications, • Witness statements and evidence, • Counsel instructions, • Instruct and liaise with counsel and external advocates where required, • Negotiate and conclude settlements where commercially appropriate, • Confidently prepare matters for final hearing or trial when necessary, • Maintain accurate time recording, file notes, and billing via a legal CMS Client & Commercial Focus • Provide clear, practical advice to clients and managing agents, • Deliver regular updates on progress, costs, and recovery prospects, • Balance legal risk with commercial recovery objectives Benefits & Culture • Salary up to £60,000 + bonus dependent on experience, • Private health and wellbeing support package, • Birthday leave in addition to annual holiday entitlement, • Enhanced staff benefits including additional leave and wellbeing initiatives, • Ongoing CPD and professional development support, • Collaborative, performance-driven team environment, • Modern Nottingham-based office with clear progression opportunities If this role is of interest to you please get in touch with Steph at Simpson Judge
