Nurse Role overview We are looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Dental Nurse to support our specialist NHS dental services at Refresh Medispa. This is a varied role combining clinical dental nursing, referral administration, patient coordination, stock management and day-to-day oversight of the dental facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with our Endodontic and Prosthodontic clinicians and will become the key person responsible for ensuring that the dental side of the clinic runs smoothly. Main responsibilities * Clinical nursing: Provide chairside assistance to the Endodontist and Prosthodontist during designated clinical sessions; prepare surgeries before clinics and ensure they are appropriately turned around afterwards; ensure instruments, materials and equipment required for each session are available; maintain high standards of cross-infection control and decontamination. * Referral management: Log into the NHS referral system/RIGA daily and download new referrals; enter referrals onto the appropriate triage tracking sheet; ensure referrals are sent promptly to the relevant clinician for triage; actively chase outstanding triage decisions rather than allowing referrals to sit unactioned; maintain an accurate record of each referral’s progress. * Patient coordination: Once triage has been completed, contact accepted patients promptly; arrange appointments according to clinical priority and service requirements; book appointments accurately into Dentally; communicate appropriately with patients regarding appointments and maintain an organised waiting list; escalate any difficulties with capacity, waiting times or patient contact. * Performer/contract administration: Support the administration associated with clinicians working under the MOS NHS contracts; ensure required performer information and documentation is maintained and up to date; liaise with clinicians regarding outstanding administrative requirements, triage and service delivery; assist management with maintaining appropriate contract records and monitoring activity. * Stock and ordering: Regularly review dental stock levels; anticipate the requirements of upcoming Endodontic and Prosthodontic clinics; place orders in a controlled and sensible manner; avoid both shortages and unnecessary over-ordering; check deliveries and deal with incorrect items, credits and returns; monitor expiry dates and stock rotation. * CQC and compliance support: Work with MOS management and other staff to help maintain the clinic’s CQC compliance; ensure appropriate dental records, logs and checks are being completed; identify outstanding compliance issues and escalate them promptly; help maintain the dental environment in a state of readiness for inspection. * Equipment and surgery management: Take day-to-day responsibility for the dental surgeries and equipment at Refresh; ensure dental chairs and associated equipment are maintained correctly and routine checks are completed; report faults promptly and coordinate repairs/servicing where required; maintain equipment records and ensure servicing requirements are not missed. The person we’re looking for We need someone who is reliable, organised and able to take ownership. This isn’t a role where someone simply turns up, nurses for the clinician and goes home. The right person should be comfortable saying: “I know what is happening with the referrals, I know which patients still need triaging, I know who needs booking, I know what stock we need, and I know whether the dental side of Refresh is running properly.”
