Filmmaker Wanted – Sunday Teen Film Classes | £20/hr - £140/day | Aylesbury If you love making films, thrive on set energy, and get excited about building projects with young people, this job is for you. If you’re a traditional classroom teacher, this role is not for you. We’re hiring a hands-on filmmaker to lead our teen film programme at the Film & TV Academy in Aylesbury. This is a practical, real-world filmmaking role. No long theory lessons. No sitting around. This is about making films every week. The Role You’ll run two filmmaking sessions every Sunday at Kingsbrook School: • Every Sunday, • 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:00, • Around 15 students per class, • Ages 13–18, • £140 per day Students work as filmmakers and actors, collaborating on real film projects over multiple weeks. Your job is to run the set, not a classroom. What This Job Actually Is • Filming every week, • Students acting, shooting, directing and creating, • Learning by doing, not by listening, • Real-world set energy, • Every student has a clear role, • Projects move forward every week This is not school. It’s the students' weekend, and parents are paying for a premium experience. Every student should leave happy, engaged, and excited to come back. Who This Is For You are someone who is: • Fun, energetic and confident, • Genuinely passionate about filmmaking, • Comfortable leading and organising 15+ teenagers, • Highly organised (you know scenes, roles, props and schedules), • Confident with camera, sound, performance and editing, • Flexible, curious and calm under pressure, • Brings child-like enthusiasm to creative projects You should be more excited about the film projects than the students are. That energy sets the tone. Who Should NOT Apply • Traditional classroom teachers, • Anyone who relies on long theory lessons, • Strict or inflexible personalities, • Anyone who prefers students sitting quietly listening If you don’t enjoy running an active, noisy set, this isn’t the role for you. Requirements • 21+, • Driving licence, • Available every Sunday, • Comfortable working with ages 13–18 Teaching qualifications are not required. Real-world filmmaking experience and the right energy matter far more. Why This Role Is Different This is a creative leadership role, not a teaching post. You’ll inspire students by making films with them, not lecturing at them. If this sounds like you, message me or apply directly.
