Overview We are seeking a Motor Claims Handler to assess insurance claims and settle extent of liability on behalf of our clients. This role involves examining damages to people and property (homes, vehicles, and offices), as well as handle personal injury and credit hire claims. You will connect with third parties to resolve the amount of money owed and handle the own damage and third-party repair process from beginning to end. How you'll make an impact • evaluate and record claims on our in-house system within product standards, check policy coverage, and allocate appropriate codes and reserves, • Conduct liability enquiries in line with the Adjuster’s Manual using the most appropriate method (phone, correspondence, field visit), • Evaluate quantum by collecting relevant evidence and adjusting reserves in accordance with Gallagher Bassett's realistic reserving philosophy, • Clearly explain decisions on liability and negotiate settlements within authority levels where appropriate, • Respond to all written and phone enquiries clearly, courteously, and promptly, • Regularly monitor claims using the diary system to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure, • Build relationships with clients by providing a friendly and efficient service, • Liaise with and control own solicitors to ensure cases are not abandoned to them, • Assist in general office administration (e.g., post, printing, order supplies, maintaining equipment) to ensure smooth running of the office, • Actively participate in the Gallagher Bassett training program, • Personal injury claims knowledge, • Determine liability/compensability on adjuster-level claims, • MOJ and IOC Portal experience Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
