Location: Carlisle Salary: Up to £19 per hour Contract: Full time, Permanent Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a hands-on role with a leading manufacturer? We are looking for a skilled engineer to join the team, wiring and assembling electrical control panels to high quality and safety standards. About the Role As an Electrical Engineer, you will: • Wire electrical control panels, working from wiring schematics or assembly drawings (training available where required)., • Safely wire electrical control panels to customer and engineering specifications, ensuring compliance with wiring and design standards., • Working with integrity, • Being commercially astute, • Partnering people and change, • Driven to make a difference, • Accountable for actions, • Courageous leadership, • Assemble electronic/electrical sub-assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions, following works orders to ISO9001 standards., • Wire and solder wiring harnesses and cable assemblies., • Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies., • Ensure assembly and sub-assembly build times are met to maintain departmental efficiency targets of 100%., • Support major project schedules, ensuring integration dates and tooling/spares completion deadlines are achieved., • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices., • Continuous Personal Development: Commit to ongoing development to support your role and contribute to company growth., • Health and Safety: Follow all company Health & Safety policies (e.g., obtaining an ECS card prior to site surveys)., • Diversity: Work in a fair, inclusive and professional manner, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained., • People Management: Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced team members., • Quality: Support a client-focused culture with total commitment to quality. Essential Criteria Education & Qualifications • Time served in an electrical discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering)., • BS7671 18th edition (D)., • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar industrial/engineering environment., • Good understanding of electrical/electronic systems., • Technical competence in low voltage AC/DC panel wiring, looming and high-voltage installations., • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability., • Good problem-solving skills., • Able to use initiative and work both independently and within a team., • Hard-working and motivated., • Reliable and punctual., • Meticulous with strong attention to detail., • Resilient and calm under pressure., • Flexible and adaptable to working hours and job tasks, with a willingness to work overtime., • Right to work in the UK.
