Technical Writer High-pressure air & gas systems | UK projects | Engineering projects team If you’re a technically strong engineer who likes owning projects end-to-end, this will land. This role suits someone who wants responsibility, visibility, and to be trusted as the technical authority on real, high-value engineering projects, not someone who wants to sit in the background producing drawings in isolation. Why this role exists The business is growing and delivering multiple high-profile projects in the UK market. That means more complexity, tighter deadlines, and higher technical scrutiny. They need a Technical Engineer who can take technical ownership from contract kick-off through to final customer handover, someone who keeps projects technically on track and acts as the go-to point for customers and suppliers. What’s genuinely different • You own the technical delivery of projects, not just a slice of it, • Direct exposure to customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders, • Close collaboration with Project Managers and Design Engineers, • Involvement in technical risk, reviews, audits and improvement, not just documentation The reality of the role Day to day, you’ll be: • Taking full technical responsibility for assigned projects, • Producing and managing technical documentation to contract requirements, • Acting as the technical point of contact for customers and suppliers, • Chairing and contributing to technical review meetings, • Managing technical risks and opportunities using structured registers, • Supporting sales with P&IDs and associated technical input, • Reporting progress clearly and regularly to the Head of Engineering Projects There’s travel involved, including visits to customers and occasional trips to head office in Germany. This is part of the role, not an exception. What they’re looking for This will suit an engineer who is organised, credible and comfortable taking responsibility. You’ll need: • Experience in a technical engineering role, • A formal engineering qualification, • Strong mechanical understanding, • Confidence dealing with customers and suppliers, • Comfort working with documentation, processes and deadlines You’ll also need: • A full UK driving licence and passport, • The ability to obtain SC clearance Who this role suits (and who it won’t) This suits someone who: • Likes structure and accountability, • Enjoys being the technical reference point, • Can balance detail with delivery pressure Next step If you want a role where your technical judgement carries weight and you can see projects through from start to finish, lets have a chat.
