Project Manager – Automation & Engineering Telford - Hybrid with 25% UK travel, occasional overseas Are you a technically sharp, commercially aware Project Manager who thrives in complex engineering environments? This role puts you at the centre of high‑value automation projects, leading delivery from contract handover through to commissioning — with full ownership, visibility, and impact. What You’ll Lead You’ll take charge of a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring every requirement is understood, communicated, and delivered. Expect to work closely with engineering teams, customers, and senior leadership while driving performance, quality, and profitability. Key Responsibilities • Own all contractual, commercial, and technical project information from proposal stage onward, • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear actions for engineering and delivery teams, • Plan resources, schedule activities, and assign tasks aligned to customer expectations, • Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle, • Proactively report status, risks, and issues to senior leadership, • Lead regular stakeholder meetings and ensure requirements stay front and centre, • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate when needed, • Manage project costs, stage payments, subcontractor approvals, and supplier buyouts, • Oversee documentation flow, transmittals, and compliance with contract requirements, • Expedite goods and components to secure on‑time delivery, • Organise and attend FATs, site meetings, and surveys, • Manage change orders, including negotiation of additional commercial recognition, • Support installation and commissioning phases with a strong focus on scheduling and H&S, • Mentor junior project managers and coordinators What You Bring • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, • Formal Project Management qualification, • Strong MS Office and MS Project capability, • Excellent written and verbal communication, • Experience in proposals, sales engineering, project management, or procurement, • Familiarity with the automation industry (essential), • Willingness to travel across the UK (~25%) with occasional overseas trips Who You Are • A proactive, organised problem‑solver, • A confident communicator who adapts to different situations, • A hands‑on team player who can also work independently, • Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to delivering excellence WCL ID: 7654
