MACHINE OPERATOR-1st/2nd shift Available Job Description The Machine Operator plays a key role in the production and packaging of certified 100% organic whole food mushroom powder. This position focuses on operating and supporting production line activities, including filling, packaging, labeling, and preparing products for shipment while following established work orders and quality standards. The role requires the ability to work in a warm manufacturing environment, handle moderate lifting, and support accurate documentation and tracking of production counts and orders. Responsibilities • Operate and support machinery involved in the production and packaging of certified 100% organic whole food mushroom powder., • Assist in the bagging process for small to medium sized pouches of mushroom powder, ensuring accurate fills and proper sealing., • Build, label, and wrap boxes according to work orders and packaging specifications., • Fill boxes with labeled and sealed pouches, following work orders and preparing completed boxes for shipment., • Perform visual and manual inspection of products, pouches, and boxes to verify quality and accuracy before shipment., • Assist with paperwork, including tracking counts, documenting orders, and maintaining accurate production records., • Rotate between stations such as wash, packaging, dehydration, and milling, following safety and quality procedures at each station., • Lift and move boxes and materials weighing 20–25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, as required by production needs., • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food production standards throughout all tasks., • Collaborate with team members on the production line, support cross-training efforts, and maintain a positive and cooperative work attitude. Essential Skills • Ability to lift 20–25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs, with safe handling practices., • Experience working in a production, general production, or general labor environment, with at least 1 year of production experience preferred., • Familiarity with machine operation in a manufacturing or production setting., • Ability to work on a production line performing tasks such as packing, labeling, and lifting boxes., • Understanding and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production environment., • Ability to follow written work orders and instructions accurately for filling, labeling, and packaging., • Attention to detail for inspecting products and boxes prior to shipment., • Capability to assist with basic paperwork, including tracking counts and documenting orders., • Willingness and ability to rotate between different production stations such as wash, packaging, dehydration, and milling., • Reliable attendance and ability to work a consistent Monday to Friday schedule on the assigned shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in food production, packaging, or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred., • Ability to cross-train on multiple tasks and stations within the production process., • Quick learning ability and openness to learning new equipment and procedures., • Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic., • Comfort working in a warm or hot manufacturing environment., • Interest in long-term growth opportunities, including potential advancement into lead roles as the company expands. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on the production and packaging of organic mushroom powder. You will work near or within the dehydration process, which creates a hot environment, and you will wear a bunny suit and other required protective clothing. Work involves rotating between stations such as wash, packaging, dehydration, and milling, with consistent exposure to a fast-paced production line. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts available including 1st shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). The environment requires standing for extended periods, handling boxes and pouches, and collaborating closely with a production team while following safety and food production standards Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA.
