Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights Position Overview: Join a dedicated team in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) as a Night Shift Nurse. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures in a 18-bed unit, ensuring their comfort and safety while monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms. Location: Hospital Address: 1602 Skipwith Drive, Richmond, VA 23229 Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Contract Duration: 91 weeks Number of Positions: 1/4 (Guaranteed Hours) Unit Information: • Number of Beds: 18, • Staffing: 38 total staff members - Night Shift Composition: 5 RNs and 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT), • Patient Ratios: 4:1, • Equipment Utilized: Central lines, PCA, Foley, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, and drains, • Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac rhythms every 4 hours, • Administer medications, including narcotics and cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Nitro), • Perform and assist with various cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, and Afib management, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care, • Current BLS and ACLS certification, • Experience in stepdown units or cardiac nursing Dress Code: Navy scrubs Weekend and On-Call Requirements: * Must be willing to work every other weekend and available for overtime.
