Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description This role installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and electronic components for industrial machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The maintenance electrician follows electrical codes, technical drawings, and equipment specifications to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production lines and facility systems. Responsibilities • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components for industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with applicable electrical codes., • Interpret and work from manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, P&IDs, and other technical documents to plan and complete electrical work., • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, including conveyors and programmable controllers, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment., • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment by following manuals, schematics, and blueprints., • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures using electrical and electronic test equipment, and identify root causes of failures., • Replace damaged or broken wires, cables, and other electrical components using appropriate tools and techniques to restore equipment to safe operating condition., • Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and collaborate with other maintenance personnel, such as mechanics, to troubleshoot and resolve issues., • Replace faulty electrical components of machines, including relays, switches, motors, and sensing devices, and ensure correct positioning and calibration., • Work safely with various voltages, including 480V, 240V, and 120V, across single-phase and three-phase circuits., • Perform ongoing electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on all manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous production., • Use Microsoft Office and related software to document maintenance activities, track issues, and communicate with team members., • Support inventory management of electrical parts and supplies to ensure critical components are available when needed., • Adhere to all safety procedures and standards while working in an industrial manufacturing environment.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 5 years of journeyman-level electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment., • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components on industrial machinery., • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and the ability to apply it in daily work., • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, P&IDs, and other technical documentation., • Experience working with 480V, 240V, and 120V electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase circuits., • Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment., • Ability to diagnose and repair transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, motors, and sensing devices., • Experience performing electrician maintenance and troubleshooting on a wide range of manufacturing equipment., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with PLC programming and the ability to troubleshoot and support programmable controllers., • Experience in inventory management for electrical parts and maintenance supplies., • Familiarity with HVAC repair in an industrial setting., • Comfort working from AutoCAD drawings and P&IDs to support system modifications and installations., • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with mechanics and other maintenance personnel.Why Work Here? You will work primarily on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment, and interaction with industrial machinery, conveyors, and control systems in a high-activity setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
