Job Description Desktop Support Engineer Location: Purchase, NY Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Onsite with flexibility to support afterschool and on rare occasions weekend activities. What You’ll Do • Serve as the on-site system administrator and technical owner for classroom/end-user computing, testing environments, and athletics technology platforms., • Perform systems analysis to translate instructional and athletics requirements into technical standards, design and document solutions, runbooks, and SOPs., • Architect, implement, and maintain endpoint management (imaging/MDM/GPO), security baselines, patching, and configuration standards across the fleet., • Administer Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, identity/SSO, and role-based access; conduct periodic access reviews and compliance audits., • Lead incident and problem management for the site: triage, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, post-incident reviews, and preventive controls., • Plan and execute technology readiness for standardized testing (SAT, ACT, Regents/CBT): environment configuration, validation/certification, and day-of operational oversight., • Own reliability for athletics technology systems (e.g., Score Vision, Athletic Live): integrations, monitoring, change control, and vendor coordination., • Manage lifecycle planning and asset governance: specifications, procurement input, deployment schedules, inventory accuracy, and end-of-life strategy., • Define and enforce site IT policies and security protocols; ensure compliance with school and Acture standards and applicable regulations., • Coordinate and direct external vendors and internal escalations; approve change windows and ensure service levels are met., • Produce and present site technology health, risk, and capacity metrics; recommend improvements and budget priorities., • Develop and deliver staff/student training; maintain knowledge articles and technical documentation., • 2 plus years of IT support or helpdesk experience., • Hands-on skills with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral setup., • Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace., • Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, DHCP, connectivity troubleshooting)., • Excellent communication skills with ability to support both staff and students., • Flexibility to provide after-school/after-hours coverage., • Experience in technology coordination and support for standardized testing (SATs, ACTs, Regents) and computer-based testing platforms., • Experience with athletics technology systems (Score Vision, Athletic Live, etc.) preferred., • Customer-first mindset with patience and professionalism., • Strong problem-solving and adaptability in a school environment., • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple requests., • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 35 pounds)., • Frequent movement across classrooms, labs, and athletic facilities.
