Job Description Job SummaryThe Associate Research Administrator supports faculty members at the Price School by managing grant proposal submissions and assisting with post-award administration. The portfolio ranges from small, straightforward projects to large, complex awards. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining internal systems, and coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Proposal Submission Support: Assist faculty with the preparation and submission of proposals to a variety of sponsoring agencies (federal, state, industry, nonprofit, etc.)., • Document Management: Compile required documents such as budgets, forms, and supporting materials from internal and external collaborators., • Proposal Review: Review sponsored project proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before submission for institutional approval., • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a liaison between faculty, research units, central offices, and sponsoring agencies., • Award Processing: Support Just-In-Time (JIT) submissions, award setup, and review Notices of Award (NOA). Verify account setups., • Issue Resolution: Identify and help resolve pre-award issues in collaboration with University central offices., • Data Management: Track and report on proposal submissions, expenditures, gifts, and endowment data., • Post-Award Administration: Assist with the management of post-award accounts. Coordinate expenditures including salary, travel, tuition, consultants, and subcontracts., • Policy Compliance: Maintain knowledge of sponsor and institutional policies; educate faculty and staff to ensure compliance., • Database Maintenance: Maintain and help develop a sponsored project tracking system; generate reports as needed., • Minimum of 3 years in grant and contract administration., • Experience in grant preparation and submission., • Project Management: Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Budgeting: Skilled in developing and managing project budgets., • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with university, federal, and non-federal regulations governing sponsored research., • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat., • Experience with grants management systems is a plus., • Organization & Problem Solving: Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills., • Experience working in a university or academic research environment., • Knowledge of NIH, NSF, or other major funding agency processes and requirements., • None required; research administration certification (e.g., CRA) is a plus.
